Intro

If you’re looking for one of the best indoor cameras out there right now to monitor your property, check on your pets, or check in on your loved ones to make sure everyone is safe, the Anona Pano 4K security camera is worth checking out. It has ultra sharp 4K video with either event-based recordings or continuous 24/7 recordings and support for up to a 512 GB micro SD card. There’s 360° coverage thanks to the 3605° of panning functionality and 110° of tilt range, which is super responsive and also has AI autotracking so you never miss a thing. Motion detection is quick, and there’s even motion detection alarms. There’s also two-way talk, a privacy mode, and dualband Wi-Fi 6 support. It basically has it all, but let’s put it through some realworld tests to see how well it performs.
And a big thanks to Anona for setting this up for review. In

the box, we have the Anona Pano security camera, power plug, USBA to type-C cable that’s around 3 m long or 9.8 ft long. There’s also a ceiling mount with screws, quick start guide, and warranty

card. The Anona Pano Security Camera comes in at around 241 g or about 0.5 lbs. The front has the 4K lens with an F1.6 aperture, which is going to be great for recording in low light areas. There’s also an LED indicator light to the top along with various sensors and a microphone port. If we rotate the housing up, this gives us access to the micro SD card slot and reset button. And this accepts up to 512 GB micro SD cards. On the rear, we have the speaker grill and USB type-C port to keep the camera powered on. And this is an excellent design choice because if you were to ever damage that cable, lose the cable, you can just go ahead and plug in any type of USBC cable. So, great design choice there.
I’ll be using my camera as a tabletop camera, but if you were going to use the ceiling mount, you’ll just take these supplied screws, secure the mount to your ceiling, and then once that’s done, you’ll just go ahead and kind of just position the camera underneath, rotate it till you hear that click, and you’re good for ceiling

mounting. Here’s a quick look at the specs. Feel free to pause and review or jump ahead to the next section. To add
App Setup

the camera to the Anon Security app, plug the camera in till you see the flashing LEDs. Open the app and tap on add device. It should automatically find the device if you have Bluetooth turned on. Go ahead and enter your Wi-Fi information. Complete the rest of the setup process and complete any firmware upgrades if necessary. Let’s look at the
App Settings

Anona app settings. So, as soon as you open it up, you can start live view or you can enable or disable privacy mode. But let’s start live view. And you could see within a matter of seconds, live view is already loaded. That’s it right there. It’s extremely quick. Now, if you tap on the actual camera icon or that bottom section, you get the full options. Now, notice that we have an overlay here. So, we can also enable the privacy mode right there. We can tap on this icon to hear the ambient noise in the room. And then, if you tap on where it says 4K, you can set the resolution, which is the streaming resolution. The camera is always recording in 4K. Now, from here, you can also go ahead and make this kind of a full screen view because of that 4K quality. It is extremely sharp.
There’s additional options at the bottom. So, we could tap on this icon to take a screenshot. We could tap on this recording icon to take a manual recording. And then when you stop it, the images and the videos will just save to your phone’s album, which is very handy. We could tap on this icon here to start to talk. And we can also tap on 360° and it’s going to do a 360° kind of look around and create this panoramic image. Now, if I tap on this like uh part of the image where it’s towards my balcony, you can see the camera jumps there. If I tap where my front door is, it’s going to automatically just kind of rotate or pan all the way there. So, that’s a much quicker way than using the pan and tilt controls, which you also have.
So, you can see I can actually angle down, take a look at the floor, and just see, you know, basically how very responsive this is. Once I tap, it’s within, you know, a second to a half second. There’s also a preset option. So, I’ve generated presets already. So, for example, if I want to look at my living room, I’ll tap on living room. And then if I want to look at the floor, if I had a cat sleeping, I could tap on that. Now, to make this, it’s really easy. What you’re going to do is you’re just going to kind of pan and tilt the camera exactly where you want it. You’re going to swipe over, tap on presets, and just give it a name. So, I’ll just call this ceiling right here. Click okay. And then it’s just going to add this preset automatically. So, you can see it’s added it right there.
To make one of the presets your default view, just go ahead tap on that. and basically the last preset you tapped on. That’s going to be the default or home position. If we tap in the top right corner, we have even more options. So you could tap in here to take a look at your firmware version, etc. If we tap under smart detection, so this is where you can get kind of, you know, detection type. So for example, if I tap into detection type, it shows that for persons, I can set the detectivity level to high, medium, or low. And you can also enable pet detection. Now, this is a beta feature. And notice that if I disable image detection, all of that just goes away. So if you want, you know, specific detections, you will have to have that on.
Now, smart tracking, I do have this enabled, this is what enables the camera to pan and tilt automatically using like AI detection. And you can also set scheduled detection. So if you only want, you know, detection to happen during a certain time of day, you know, like whenever you’re sleeping, not when you’re at home, you can also set that by day and time as well. You can also have an automatic sound alarm. So once you enable that, go to alarm type, turn it on for person. You can also turn on for pet um if you want to test that out. And then you have these different options like preset options and you could record your own greeting. You can also set the alarm duration from as low as 10 seconds all the way up to a minute. You can enable sound detection.
So the detection type is a baby crying. You could set the sensitivity under video and audio. You can choose if you want to have watermarks, if you want the IR night vision, or if you want the lens uh distortion correction, which I’ve enabled. You can also set anti- flicker 60, 50 Hz or off. And then you can have the image kind of upright, or you can invert it if you’re going to be ceiling mounting the camera. And of course, you can have audio recording, and you could set the speaker volume for the alarms or two-way talk. You can also share the device with family and friends. You can take a look at the daily report to see everything that’s happened in the day. You can enable privacy mode. And you can also turn the status light on or off.
Now, under PTZ calibration, you can recalibrate everything if you need to. Under storage settings, this is where you can format the SD card. And under recording status, so you can switch this from event-based recording, where it’s only going to record whenever something is detected. So, for example, if I put it to that, you can see whenever an event is recorded, record for as low as 5 seconds all the way up to 30 seconds. But if you want just full coverage all the time without missing anything, you’re going to want to put it on 24/7 recording. If you need to change any Wi-Fi settings, you could go here, tap on change network.
You could go under device notifications and enable all notifications and normal notifications, event notifications, other notifications, and make sure you set this to most efficient. If you want it as quick as possible, you can change time zone settings, enable the 24-hour format. You can also update the firmware, change the location of the camera, and we do have Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support. Tapping
Video Playback

playback, we can review all of the recorded clips. So, at the top, it shows SD card and cloud. If you purchase the cloud plan, you would tap on that. But I’m only using the SD card, and it actually shows a breakdown of the event. So, it shows person, pet, baby, crying. So, you can just kind of color code and see exactly where you want to jump. Now, notice it actually shows this area in green. And if I go ahead and kind of expand this area, the reason why this shows as green is because this is when I’ve enabled 247 recording. So if I can jump, you know, like let’s say I want to jump right from here. The camera is continually recording. You can see the timer going on here. So there’s going to be no gaps in coverage.
Now, we can also tap on view events and we can see all of the events that happened today. So for example, if I scroll down and I want to take a look at this one. Tap on that. Give it a second to load it. And this is me exiting the room. Now, from here, I can actually go ahead and download this. So, I’ll just click the download icon here. You can also change the playback speed, and you can share and delete clips.
Video Quality

And I can see it’s now tracking me. If I look at my phone, >> the video quality is fantastic, especially in the 8 megapixel 4K resolution. It records in 15 frames per second and video looks good during the day with ambient room lighting or even with back lit scenes like pointing it towards a window or pointing it towards a balcony door and without the video looking too blown out or too washed out. Facial details are easy to make out up close or further away whether you have ambient lighting, whether it’s a brightly lit room or even if you have night vision video. And you can see just how great the night vision quality is. It’s clear without being too grainy. Something a lot of other cameras struggle with. And that’s because it has a large f1.6 aperture for low light environments.
So, it’s still easy to make out faces and details even in a pitch black room with no light source at
Motion Detection

all. Motion detection is also lightning quick whether it’s during the day or at night in a very dim environment. And you can see once motion is detected, it sends an app alert almost immediately. And once you tap it, live view also loads up in a matter of seconds. And it loads up quickly whether you’re on your home Wi-Fi or away from home on your
Motion Detection Alarm

mobile data plane.

Here’s how quickly live view pulls up. whether you’re on your home’s Wi-Fi or you’re away from home on your mobile
AI Auto Tracking

data. The AI autotracking is also super sticky and responsive. So, it didn’t matter if I was walking slowly, if I was walking at a brisk space, it was easily able to track me from either side of the room. And notice that even when I walk into a backlit scene, it still has no problems tracking me. And that went for me walking during the day in a brightly lit room or even at night, the tracking is just fantastic on here. Notice the
Default View

camera is going to track me. Then it’s going to jump back to the default preset or home position. And after finishing tracking me, it’s going to jump back to the default home preset. Now, if you
Pan & Tilt Controls

don’t want to enable the AI autotracking feature, you can always manually pan and tilt the camera. And it’s very responsive. Usually within a matter of a half second, whatever you input on the screen, the camera will start panning
Privacy Mode

and tilting. And whenever you need privacy, you can simply hit the privacy icon in the app. The lens will rotate upwards so no video or sound is being recorded. And when you’re done, just
2 Way Talk

exit out of privacy mode. >> Here’s an example of what 2-way talk sounds like on the Anona Pano security
Baby Crying Detection

camera. There we go. So, it actually did pick up a baby whiz crying. So, that feature actually works fairly well. if you’re
Noise?

wondering how much noise it makes while panning and tilting. Well, I really couldn’t hear anything. So, this is perfect for putting in a baby room. But here’s a demo.
Storage

Storage has been fantastic on here because you can insert up to an impressive 512 GB micro SD card. Now, this camera also lets you set it to event-based recording and 24/7 continuous recording. So, I set it on 24/7 continuous recording, and by my estimation, I would get around 24 days of continuous recording before it starts overwriting the oldest clip. That’s very impressive because if you went on vacation for like 2 weeks, 3 weeks, you can come back and see everything that happened in your home. Now, if you set it to event-based recording, where it’s only going to record anytime motion is detected, you’ll get easily months to even years of recordings, especially if you use a 512 GB micro SD card. and I’ll leave a link down below to the one that
