hey it’s Adrien and today I’m taking a quick look at the ulfo note 17 Pro now this is a really beautiful looking phone we have a curved AMOLED display capable of up to 120 HZ refresh rate and up to 500 nits of brightness there’s also NFC functionality we have a 550 milliamp battery it’s running a mediate Tech Helio g99 CPU and it’s running Android 13 as well there’s also a 108 map main camera A5 megap macro lens and a 33 map front selfie camera my phone has 256 gigs of storage and 12 gigs of RAM so let’s take a quick first look at how it performs in terms of fingerprint unlocking the camera performance and a big thanks to my friends at AliExpress for sending this out for review in the

Design
card and more let’s look at the design of the ulone note 17 Pro so the first thing I’ll do is I’ll just go ahead and boot this up and this does have a pre applied screen protector so if I do a closeup view you can see exactly where that ends now what I’m going to do is I’m just going to remove the pre-applied screen protector cuz I just want to get the best possible um display performance out of here uh without using the screen protector so yeah that’s what the phone looks like once it’s powered on very very quick so I have it in this pearl white color but it also comes in a velvet black and an orange color I believe now the phone comes in at 196 197 G so it does have some heft or weight to it and it actually feels you know really good in the hand you know nicely balanced it feels really well built looking at the top so we have an IR remote Blaster and this is really handy you could program the phone to actually control some of your household appliances now on the very rear this is where we have that dual ring camera setup so there’s a 108 map main camera and that is at f1.9 so this is going to be your wide camera and then we also have a 5 megapixel macro lens and that’s at f2.2 now these are capable of up to 1440p recording at 30 frames per second we also have the ulone logo at the bottom and then looking at the side this is where we have the power button we have this you know kind of red Accent on there and the volume button as well and everything Everything feels very tactile on here on the other side there’s nothing there and then at the very bottom we have the SIM card tray along with the type-c charging port and speaker Grill there’s also a slight speaker Grill cut out so we have front firing speakers as well ulone says the phone is Splash resistant but there is no official IP rating so just keep that
First Boot
in
Screen
mind and this is what the phone looks like when you first boot it up so you can see it’s a very stock Android experience not a lot of bloat going on here as well which is always nice to see now in terms of the screen responsiveness so this does have a 120 HZ refresh rate and you can see it’s actually pretty quick just flicking through you can set the screen refresh rate right now it’s set to Dynamic which is the default so it’s going to balance battery life and give you up to 120 HZ but you can also just lock it into 120 HZ if you just want the best possible screen experience you can also set it to 90 HZ or just just lock it to 60 to really extend battery life and looking at the screen so this is a 6.78 in curved AMOLED screen running at 120 htz and if we do a side view you can see that this screen just kind of curves or wraps around on all four corners of the phone and it looks really sharp so we do have this type of reflective I believe this is an aluminum frame and you could see it’s completely glossy all the way through so yeah it feels pretty premium in the hand and the screen has a max brightness of 500 nits there’s 388 PPI and around a 93% screen Tooty ratio if you love always on display screens like I do this is what it looks like now I’ve set it to the default of white there’s other colors to choose from but there’s no way to actually boost the brightness that’s why I left it on white
Fingerprint Unlock
and this is how fast the under display fingerprint sensor is so you can see basically within a half second or so the phone will unlock
Face Unlock
I did also set up face unlock so if I go ahead and angle the phone towards my face you can see it just unlocked so it happens in about a half to 1 second
Cameras
let’s take a quick look at the camera performance so you can go ahead and double press the power button that’s going to pull up the camera app and we have options for video portrait photo the 108 megapixel mode and that’s using the main lens right there we also have a PE mode that we could go into and we can also go into more you can see we have a night mode we can create a a film Stop Panorama slow motion macro and intelligent scanning for documents but let’s go into the 108 megap mode right here bring this uh controller right here and I’ll go ahead and snap that so you can see that takes a little bit to snap because it’s capturing way more info if I go into the regular photo mode much quicker and I did set hdr on now if I go ahead and take a look at that so let’s go ahead and rotate this this is what that image looks like and just to do kind of a side by side so I could see just in real life it’s kind of boosted the red on here it’s a little bit brighter than in real life it says a darker red but that’s because I did keep hdr on so if I take a look at the color on the controller I could see that it’s a little bit still boosted in terms of saturation compared to what it actually looks like in person I’ve set it to use that 5 megap macro lens so I’ll just go close up on this joystick here tap to focus and let’s go ahead and take that let’s go ahead and take a look and you can see this is actually picking up a lot of detail including all those dust fibers on the joystick so yeah the macro lens is actually pretty good one thing I noticed about the autofocus is that it does take a couple of seconds I would say about a second and a half to actually gain focus when I’m switching between different types of subjects and note that there’s no optical zoom on here so you’d have to tap on this slider here and you could go ahead and punch in digitally now if I do a 4X shot at the max let’s go ahead take that and let’s take a look here that’s actually pretty good you could see the PlayStation logo there all of those kind of dust particles or fibers so the digital Zoom is actually not that bad and this was not even using the 108 megapix mode and using the main photo mode you’re basically taking 12 megapixel shots in a 4 to3 aspect ratio under video quality the highest resolution is 2K you can also set it to fhd HD or VGA but yeah the highest quality is going to be 2K at 30 frames per second and reviewing video playback I could see that the autofocus is playing a little bit of catchup as I’m panning and pushing into the shot so just keep that in mind you know you’re not going to have the most fluid autofocus going on here there’s also a 32 megapixel selfie cam at the top so if I go ahead and flip over to that take a photo here let’s take a look we’ll just zoom in I mean pretty good detail you could see that type of popcorn and ceiling texture on here there’s also NFC

Speakers

Haptics
speakers in terms of the hopt so it’s not as tight as I would like so you could probably hear this so you can hear the vibration motor going so the haptic feels like a little bit weak and a little bit too prolonged for my liking so probably something I’m going to turn off just to save battery
Connectivity
life anyway in terms of connectivity so we have support for two nano SIM cards in the SIM card tray this also supports Dual Band Wi-Fi and up to 4G LTE speeds
Specs
there’s a mediatech helio G9 9 CPU with up to 2.2 GHz and this is comparable to a Snapdragon 680 or a 695 the GPU it’s a Mali g57 MCU kind of similar to the adreno 610 or 619 now the battery on here is a 5,50 milliamp battery and this supports up to 33 w of wired fast charging however there is no wireless charging my phone has 12 gigs of RAM plus 12 gigs of virtual Ram if you want to enable that which it is on by default and it has 256 gigs of internal storage but note you can’t actually expand this storage using a Micro SD card so I’ll wrap up my quick
