alright guys I wanted to give my thoughts on the Osmo mobile to now keep in mind this is my first gimbal I haven’t used one before so you know it’s not going to be a professional you know evaluation of it is just my my experience using it so for the most part I am very happy with it I was able to get much smoother shots while walking you know I took it out my trip to China and I was just kind of cataloging you know daily activities and things like that and for that purpose it does work well it’s very smooth when you’re panning right to left as well in the settings the there’s a DJI app that you download for the gimbal and in those settings you can modify you know how quickly you wanted to Japan and things like that you know so if you and you do have the option of using the gimbal without the app you can just use it with your phone’s native camera app your you know you just won’t have all the features that come with the app so I did notice for Android which is you know what I have specifically it does have some some features you know like hyper lapse time lapse and it does take panoramic images I think it’s up to two hundred and sixty degrees something like that it I it’s definitely not 360 it doesn’t go all the way around but you know what this is marketed as you know for iPhones and when I look at the functionality in the app for an iPhone you know the functionality is way more robust there’s way more features in the iPhone in the iPhone app you know versus when you download the app and you’re you’re using an Android phone so that’s the only thing I would caution you about you know if you are gonna get this and you’re looking at all the cool features and you want to try it you know if you have an Apple iPhone you’re gonna see the most benefit from it but if you have an Android phone you know I find that I don’t use the features all that much I just opened my my camera’s native app and I do that another big problem is in the Android app the max resolution I can set it is only 1080p you know which is not great I specifically bought my phone not just Nokia phone this is an old one but I have a new phone and it you know shoots 4k video and that’s primarily the type of video I wanted to record and through DJI zap I’m you know I can’t do that I can only set 180 P and it’s at 30 frames per second so you know I’ve checked online and there’s a lot of people who are complaining about that the DJI hasn’t fixed that or you know maybe they don’t ever plan on fixing that and they’re just throwing you know all their efforts you know behind people who have Apple devices so if you’re gonna use this just strictly as a gimbal for you know study shots and to reduce shake when you’re walking it’s gonna work perfect for that and you could just use it through your camera’s native app and then from there you can set you know 1080p 60 frames a second or 4k but if you’re gonna if you’re banking on using the DJI app then you know just be just be warned that a lot of the functionality it’s not going to be there is gonna be pretty watered down in terms of what you get but yeah if you get if you get a chance to check it out definitely try it battery life is pretty good you know I can do close to a full day and you know I still have a charge on there so um definitely check it out I know there’s a there’s the the zoom on there and at the back that’s sorry at the side here yeah this is how you charge it you know unfortunately it’s not USB type-c that would’ve been great now they do say that you know one of the good features of this is that you can charge your phone at the same time while you’re using the gimbal now I don’t know how that’s possible because if you run you know your USB if you run your USB from here to the charging port on your phone those parts are always at the bottom of the phone and you know just like I’m showing you here it’s it’s somewhere at the bottom here and if you look at the if you look at the gimbal it’s sitting pretty much completely flush so there’s no place to put a cable now you can tilt this out but you know this is a pretty heavy phone as 185 grams so if I actually try to slide this out to accommodate that cable it’s not gonna be balanced very well and I’m not sure you know the gimbal can compensate for you know everything being the weight being so offside you know one sided like that so you know I I don’t think yeah it is possible you can maybe swap the phone but then the camera is gonna be just hitting this this arm at the back here so so yeah I don’t think you can charge it you know while you’re using the phone unless I’m missing something here but other than that yeah it’s good for just as a gimbal if you have an Android device I don’t have an iPhone but um if I did I’m sure you know those users are getting much more use out of the DJI native app alright that’s all that’s all for today guys thanks bye
