Intro
If you just got your new iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max and you want to case with the slimest hand feel while still looking sharp, the thin more in-earum and fiber cases were checking out. It’s ultra lightweight at around 19.6 grams and only 0.9 millimeters thin while still being durable with the Aerospace Great 600D Air Mid-Fiber Build. There’s a raise oxidized back aluminum protective lip to protect your rear lens and a strong magnetic mounting ring to use max if wireless charging and max if accessories with a secure magnet There’s also zero wobble when using the phone horizontally or vertically and NFC use or tap to pay is also unaffected. However, there is a significant consideration to be mindful of so let’s take a closer look at a big thing that’s been born for sending this out for review.

In the box, you get the thinborn air-med fiber case, a tempered glass screen protector, rear camera module protector, various documentation and cleaning wipes.
Design
The thinborn air-med fiber case comes in at only 19.6 grams so this is easily the lightest case that I’ve tested so far and just looking at a side profile you can see just how thin it is at around 0.9 millimeters thick so I can barely feel it in the hand. Looking at the back so we have this raised rear camera protective lip that goes all the way around and this is made out of oxidized black aluminum and we also have the air-med fiber material here and as I run my fingers along it there is a little bit of raised grip or texture that you can feel and that also extends all the way around the entire case. The right side has button cutouts and egos for the left side as well and at the bottom we also have cutouts for the speaker grill and USB Type-C port.
The inside has a bunch of magnets for secure magnetic mounting when using max-of-charging and max-of-excessories and the front screen lip or bezel that goes all the way around has a slight curvature to help keep the phone retain in the case so let’s take a look at what it looks like installed. Install & Fitment
I’ll just start on the top corners here, press in pressing on the sides and just like that I’m done. Removing the case is really simple so just press down near the flash module and lift up on the lip pair, lift up on the lip mirror where the top lenses and then once it’s out like this just wiggle it out and just like that you’re done. And a thin more narrow-med fiber case looks fantastic on the iPhone 18 Pro Max especially contrasting with the silver color here and in terms of hand feel this is just one of the best feeling cases I’ve tried so far again it barely feels like I’m holding anything at all very easy to manipulate this one handed no problems at all.
In terms of grip while it’s not the grimpus-eramit fiber case that I’ve used it still provides enough grip for me to manipulate it one handed no problems at all in terms of fitment so the phone feels nicely retained in the case it doesn’t feel looser like it’s gonna fall out and you could see that the cutouts for the buttons on the right side and the left side are completely unaplicated and if we take a look at the bottom view for the speaker grill and USB Type-C port those are also completely unaplicated as well and the rear camera lens all set nicely recessed behind the raised protective rear camera lip so if you were to place the phone lens side down there’s no damage here lens and looking at the front screen lip or bezel so do note that I already have a tempered glass screen protector already installed on the phone so I didn’t use the one that came in the box and as I look along the size of the case the screen protector actually seems to be rising slightly above or pretty much flush with the actual front screen protective lip or bezel and while the four corners of the case seem to be slightly raised or elevated compared to the side frame of the case if you place your phone screen side down it still seems like the screen protector is going to be making most of the contact with a flat surface so just keep that in mind and due to the back finish on the back of the phone I noticed that it does have a tendency to show my fingerprints I do have kind of oily fingerprints but it’s nothing that wiping down with a cloth doesn’t get rid of pretty easily overall just a beautiful looking case with excellent fitment and hand feel but we are making a sacrifice so let’s talk about protection next.
Now let’s talk protection and this was the
Protection
one thing I mentioned at the start of the video to keep in mind so this case has no official drop protection rating which makes sense because it’s an extremely thin and lightweight case it’s made for you know kind of a barely their type of hand feel.
Now on the back you do get rear lens protection since this raised rear protective lip does rise high enough you know above the actual lens so that if you place this on side down there’s not gonna be any damage in terms of front screen protection so it is quite minimal so it’s great that they include a tempered glass screen protector in the box if you want additional front screen protection since the front protective lips are not very high at all and if I do a side view of both of the screen protectors it seems the one that comes on the box may be a little bit thinner than the one that I’m running so it’s possible the defitment would make it you know a little bit more flush with the case of versus mine where it’s kind of extending out by a little bit.
Now looking at the frame you could see due to the large cutouts for the buttons on the right and left side parts of the frame are exposed so if you were to place the phone in your pocket and you at keys or anything sharp thick and scratch your frame there’s a chance there could be some damage here so this is mostly a case where people who are kind of mindful with how they place their phone. MagSafe Charging & Accessories
here is also pretty strong when using maxifueralist charging and you can even use cheer-or-or-list charging as well. You can also use maxif accessories with a very strong and secure hold so you can attach things like a ring holder, a maxif wallet, maxif harbing and you could see even with me shaking the phone or dangling the phone pretty aggressively nothing is the touching thanks to the secure magnetical. Magnetic Mounting?
to magnetically mount it to a metallic pole horizontally. Now I did have a little bit of slip before you know kind of caught hold so it is technically possible but it’s not something I’d recommend since we have no official drop protection rating as well you won’t be able to ever mount the phone vertically due to the race protective rear lens of the back. also has zero wobble when you’re using your phone horizontally or vertically. If you regularly use
NFC?
NFC or tap to pay NFC functionality is also completely unaffected. I did try installing the rear
Optional Lens Protector
camera module protective film that comes on the box now it’s using adhesive on the underside to keep it kind of adhered to the entire rear module here but I had problems getting it you know nicely situated probably because of the extra adhesive you know kind of pressing it down was a little bit hard. Now even when it did sit it wasn’t completely flush I did manage to get the case on there but it wasn’t you know the flushes are most precise fitment overall and I generally don’t recommend running these type of lens protectors just because it’s usually plastic it’s not the highest quality glass so whatever coatings you have on your original lens maybe you know kind of hindered when you put one of these lens protectors over it.
So yeah this is a nice to have but I wouldn’t recommend running the phone with it. While I didn’t install the included screen protect
Optional Screen Protector
onto iPhone 18 Pro Max I did install it on the iPhone 17 Pro Max and both of these phones share pretty much the same identical screen so I’ll show you on screen with the screen protector of the clock before and after installation and you can see the screen was still very responsive and the colors and clarity were pretty good as well. Max’s hands down the thinness case I’ve used at only 0.9 millimeters thin and also the lightest at 19.6 grams. It definitely delivers the best barely their hand feel and minimalist look while still providing decent grip on top of that the magnets are also strong enough for secure max if wireless charging and max if accessories great for pairing it with a ring holder or a power bank and there is also zero wobble when using the case horizontally or vertically plus NFC uses also an effected. Overall the thinborn air mid fiber case is an excellent looking case very stealth type of look and very ergonomic can feel as well.
However you are going to be limited to just general or basic protection just to protect your phone anytime you place it down on a surface since there is no official drop protection rating. However if you don’t generally drop your phone this is one of the best barely their top of hand feels you could get in a case.
