If you just got your brand new S26 Ultra, you’re looking to protect it without adding too much bulk and you want to speed up the way you use your phone. Well, the Paka Edge Case can actually do that. The edge cases are extremely lightweight at 28 to 29 g while also being around 1.2 mm thin and still being durable thanks to the aerospace grade AMIT fiber. You still get rear lens protection and front screen protection thanks to the raised protective lips and corners. You can use CH2 wireless charging and thanks to the strong magnets, you can use Macsafe charging and Macsafe accessories. And there’s the unique air and button system that lets you quick launch apps, turn the flashlight on or off, take screenshots, enable privacy mode, and anything else you can imagine.

While the edge case looks fantastic on the S26 Ultra and sounds good on paper, you are going to be making a small compromise. So, let’s take a closer look and a big thanks to Paka for sending this out for

review. In the box, you get the Paka case, quick start guide with instructions to set up the errand buttons, and additional adhesive stickers if needed. The cases

are extremely lightweight, coming in at 28 to 29 g. And they’re also extremely thin as well at about 1.2 mm thin. Despite being thin and lightweight, they’re still extremely durable thanks to the aerospace grade Aramid fiber build. On the rear of the case, we have a large lens cutout along with individual cutouts on the right side. Now, this does extend a little bit by about, you know, a couple millimeters. So, this will protect your lens anytime you place the phone camera side down. A metallic lip caps off the top of the raised bezel, which actually makes it look pretty sharp. And thanks to that weave type of woven pattern going on here. It adds a ton of grip. And we also have the patal over at the very bottom. There’s a large cutout on the right for the power and volume buttons.

At the bottom, we have a large cutout for the type-C port, cutout for the speaker grill, and SPEN access. On the left side, we have something fairly special. So, these are Paka’s three Aaron buttons. So, these use NFC to activate certain app launches and routines on your phone, which I’ll demo later. There’s a soft layer on the other side of the Aaron buttons, likely to transmit those NFC presses. There’s a cutout on top of the case, and if we do a front view, you could see that the frame actually curves or wraps around ever so slightly to help keep your phone retained in the case. Looking at a side view, you can see that once you get to the corner here, it does slightly extend or protrude higher than the rest of the frame.

And that’s going to make it so that anytime you place your phone kind of screenside down, it’s going to be nicely protected. The inside of the case has the same aramid fiber type of woven pattern, but it is less grippy than on the outside. So, you can rest assured your phone will not get scratched. And we also have the magnetic ring here to use Maxafe charging and Maxafe accessories. While all of the cases are very grippy, I feel like the moonrise case is the most grippy, followed by the sunset case, and the least grippy is the black aramid fiber case. To install the

S26 Ultra, I’m going to start on the camera lens side. Pop that in, pop it in at the opposite side, and then at the bottom. And just like that, we’re done.

And that moonrise case looks so sharp and fresh on the S26 Ultra. Such a sleek and minimalist look. The top cutout is nicely aligned. And at the bottom, the speaker grill is nicely aligned as well. And we also have easy access to the SPEN. Even with the additional height from the added screen protector, if you look at the edge cases corners, they do extend or protrude high enough so that if you were to place the phone screen side down, your screen is nicely protected with or without a screen protector on. The rear lenses look pretty sharp housed in that large camera cutout with the metal lip going around there.

Now, you probably can fit a lens protector in there depending on how thick it is, but do note that the other lens along with the time offlight sensor does stick up just a little bit from the case. It shouldn’t get scratched once you place this on a table since the large camera bump is going to prevent it from making contact, but something to be mindful of. Looking at a top- down view where the Aaron buttons are, you could see very slight protrusions where the buttons are housed, but it’s very tastefully done. And of course, button access is not an issue on this case. And the fitment is so precise and secure on here. I haven’t needed to use those adhesive pads. And here’s what the sunset case looks like on the S26 Ultra and the black aramid fiber case as well.

Hand Feel

The hand feel is wonderful on here, especially with the Moonrise case. It just feels the most grippy out of all the cases. And again, it’s so lightweight and it’s so slim. It barely feels like I’ve added really anything to the S26 Ultra at all. Very easy for me to rotate side to side, top to bottom, and just, you know, kind of manipulate any way I see fit in the hand. Just a really sharp looking case. Really easy to manage. CH2 wireless charging works

without the issue. And you can also use max safe charging thanks to the strong magnets in here along with certain Maxafeie accessories providing they fit.

Magsafe Accessories

And while the magnetic ring is strong enough for maxave charging and using max accessories, it’s not strong enough for magnetic mounting to metal surfaces. If

you use NFC or tap to pay, it’s completely unaffected. Similarly, SPEN

S Pen

use is also unaffected by the magnets.

Protection

So, the one compromise I mentioned at the start of the video is that this case doesn’t have an official drop protection rating. This is going to be great for protecting your phone from scratches, nicks, and things like that when it’s in your pocket, when you’re putting it on a table or any type of surface. But if you were to drop it, you’ll have very minimal protection. There’s no kind of shock absorbing or air cushion corners on here. If you need something like that, you’ll have to check out Packaka’s Kieran version of cases. That said, I’m still glad they have the extended corners on the case, so you could still place this screenside down even without

a screen protector. There’s a decent amount of wobble if you use this on a flat surface, and that’s due to the rear lens bezels. To make full use of the

Aaron Button

Aaron buttons, we will have to download the Aaron button app from the Google Play Store. Once you open the Aaron button app, it’s broken into different sections. Now, under hot picks, for example, I can tap on open app. And this is where I can set an app to be quick launch with one of the buttons. So, I’ll tap on calculator. Hit apply. It says a long press on one of the buttons. So, I’ll just pick the first one to start. And it says setup is successful. I’ll just hit confirm. Now, if I go back to the home screen and I just long press on that first button, it’s going to launch the calculator app. Now, I’ll jump into the tools section. So, we have a bunch of different options here, but if I tap on flashlight, I’ll go on apply shortcut. I’ll go ahead and map the second button right here.

And you can see setup successful. So, I’ll hit confirm. Now, I can long press on the NFC button to turn the flashlight on or off. While the Aaron Button app has a ton of options on here, there are certain settings where you will have to use Samsung’s One UI to get access. So, for example, if I wanted to map the screenshot or record button, it mentions this does need to be done in the routine section. So, let me show you how to set that up if you’re interested. So, you’ll pull down at the top, tap on the gear icon in the search bar, search for routines. You’ll see it pop up there, and then you’re going to add a routine. So I’ll click on plus at the top here and then we’re going to add an if condition. So if and we want to make sure if the NFC button is tagged.

So type in NFC and you’ll see NFC tagged. And it’s going to prompt you to press one of these buttons. I’ll go ahead and press the bottom one here. So if NFC tagged and I’ll just give it a name, say SS for uh screenshot. Hit done. So if NFC button is uh pressed, go ahead and do this. So I want to add and you can see there’s a bunch of options on here. You could change like, you know, turning on the eye comfort shield, but for now I want to just do the screenshot. So, I’ll go ahead type in screen. And then I’ll scroll down and it says take screenshot. Hit that. Save it. I’ll just keep the default NFC tag. And now what I can do is if I just press and hold the bottom NFC button or Aaron button, it’s going to go ahead and take a screenshot. And you can add way more functionality.

So if this button is pressed, you can go ahead take a screenshot. You can also change your display brightness. You can turn on dark mode at the same time. You could do really a bunch of stackable options. And to demo that, I’ve also told it to open up the gallery anytime I take a screenshot. So, I’ll go ahead press on this button. It’s going to take the screenshot, then open up my gallery automatically. You can see there’s a ton of versatility and functionality you can actually do with these. And how about if you want quick access to the new privacy display feature? Well, if I just go ahead press on this, you can see it’s automatically enabled that privacy display feature. Just like that. Now, do note that if I go ahead and press this again, it won’t turn off the privacy display.

So, you can turn it on, but you can’t reverse that action. It’s important to note that the Aaron buttons will only work if your phone is unlocked. So, right now it’s unlocked. If I go ahead press the second button, the light comes on or off. I’ve programmed the flashlight to do that. Now, if I go ahead and I lock the phone, so right now it’s locked. and I go ahead and press that same button, nothing is going to happen no matter how much I press. I do have to actually unlock the phone to restore that functionality. So,

the Paka Edge case for the S26 Ultra is a truly unique case. It looks stellar on the S26 Ultra. You get a ton of grip on here and it’s also very ergonomic in the hand. And the ability to use the Aaron buttons to turn the flashlight on or off, turn the privacy screen on or off, or any other combination of settings makes this case very hard to beat. While there’s no drop protection, you still get rear lens protection and front screen protection thanks to the protective bezels. In addition to CH2 wireless charging, you can also use Max Safe charging and Max Safe accessories and NFC use and SPEN uses unaffected. So, if you’d like to get your very own Paka Edge case, either in the Moonrise color that I have here or any of the other fantastic looking colors, I’ll leave links down below.

And if I have any type of coupon codes, I’ll leave those down below as well. If you like this video, maybe consider checking out some of my other S26 Ultra case reviews.
