Intro
Hey, it’s Adrian. And if you’re looking for an NVME drive for your PS5, for your laptop or desktop that has super fast speeds, so you could load games quickly, you could transfer large amounts of data quickly as well, you’re going to want to check out the Oro IG740 Pro NVME drive. This is a Gen 4 drive with read speeds up to 7,400 megabytes a second and write speeds up to 6,500 megabytes a second, making it perfect for any type of setup where speed is a factor. And don’t worry if you’ve never heard of a Recoil before. I’ve never personally used them. I’ve seen them around, but I usually stick to Samsung, Western Digital, Kingston, you know, the usual suspects. But after trying this drive out, I was seriously impressed, and I think you will be, too.
So, let’s take a closer look at how well it performs in the PS5 or on a laptop to see if this could be your next NVME drive. And a big thanks to Rico for sending this out for review.
Package Contents
In the box, we have the Oro IG740 Pro NVME drive. We have a copper heat sink plate, thermal silicon pad, an included screwdriver, and retention screw along with manual. And this is what the drive

looks like. So you can see it’s a really nice looking drive. And this is what the back of it looks like. So this is the IG740 Pro model. This is the two TBTE version. And you can see if I do a side view, we already have a pre-applied thermal layer on here to help with heat dissipation. So it’s a 2280 form factor. It is a Gen 4 drive. Now we have a max right speed of 6,500 megabytes per second and a read speed of 7,400 megabytes per second. Here’s a quick

look at the specs. Feel free to pause and review or jump ahead to the next
PS5 Performance
section. So, the Oro drive performed fantastic on the PS5. Now, when I installed it, I installed it and I used the optional silicone thermal pad and the optional copper heat sink plate as well. And if you’re not sure how to add it to the PS5, I’ll leave a video linked up here and in the video description that you could follow along to. After I booted up the PS5, it did a quick format and a quick read test, and the speed was around 6,171 megabytes per second. And what Sony recommends as the minimum spec for any drive you put in the PS5 is actually 5,500 megabytes per second. So, we easily surpassed that and had a ton of headroom. That means that loading games up takes a matter of seconds.
And I was able to transfer about 160 GB from the console storage to the drive in about 60 seconds, which is fantastic. And I think the actual original PS5 drive might be the bottleneck there. So, yeah, if your PS5 needs additional storage, I highly recommend this drive for that. It’s lightning quick. To install it on my

laptop, I did remove the optional thermal pad and copper heat sink that I’d use on the PS5 just because it’s a slimmer fit in my laptop and my laptop already has silicone thermal pads already. But if you’re installing the drive on a desktop, you can easily use the copper heat sink and additional thermal pad since you’ll have tons of space. And the usable space was around 1.86 TB of the 2 TB, which is about
Benchmarks
normal. In Crystal Disc, I had average read speeds of around 7,000 megabytes per second and write speeds of around 6,300 megabytes per second. So, a little under the max rated speeds of 7,400 megabytes per second and 6,500 megabytes per second. However, it was still lightning quick and fast for large file transfers, letting me transfer 16 gigs of files in about 5 seconds or around 100 GB in about 30 seconds. That’s really, really quick. In terms of price
Pricing
and value, this is fantastic value. So this is usually around 150 for the two terbyte version, which is what I have. And right now it’s on sale for about 120 US. So that works out to about $60 per terabyte. Now, if you look at offerings from Samsung and other competing brands that have, you know, roughly the same speed, you’re looking at anywhere from $70, even up to $90 per terabyte. Also, keep in mind that this comes with an additional thermal silicone pad. We also have the copper heat sink plate, a screwdriver, and a retention screw, and a 5-year warranty. That’s something that a lot of other brands at the same price don’t come with. Unlike some other brands that come with dedicated software to update the firmware or to check drive health, I didn’t find that with the Oro drive.
So, just something to keep in mind if it matters to you. So, if you’re

looking for a reliable and high-erforming NVME drive for either your PS5 or your laptop or desktop, I highly recommend the Eureko IG740 Pro Drive. The speeds were ultra fast on my PS5 for loading games quickly or transferring games between console storage and the drive. And on my laptop, speeds were equally as quick, allowing me to move large amounts of data in a matter of seconds. And like I mentioned, this comes with a ton of stuff in the box, so you don’t have to go out and get a third-party thermal kit like I had to do when I first installed the Samsung drive in my PS5. This comes with everything you need and a 5-year warranty on top. So, I’ll leave links down below for you to get your very own or to learn more.
And don’t forget to check out some of these videos where I show you how you can add it to either your PS5, your laptop, or your desktop. And I have a huge favor to ask. If you did find this video helpful, would you mind liking and subscribing? It really does help me out as a small and growing channel. I review a bunch of different things like headphones, laptops, earbuds, mechanical keyboards, security cameras. Really something for everyone. And I hope you’ll join me in my next video
