They’re made of durable Kevlar fiber for a super slim and lightweight handfield. There’s also an aluminum alloy rear bezel protection for the rear camera lens and race corners for front screen protection. And you also retain full Maxafe charging functionality and a secure magnetic hold for using Maxafe accessories. NFC use is unaffected, but there’s one thing that’s lacking. ArmorAir Case Design
Banks Armor Air Case is extremely lightweight, coming in at around 22.6 g. And that’s thanks to the DuPont Kevlar fiber build on here. And it is only about 1 mm thin, so extremely slim and lightweight. We have a weave type of pattern going on which adds grip and texture and just helps for a more secure hold all the way around the case. And if I run my fingers along here, which are usually kind of oily, you could see there’s not much in the way of smudges or residue. There’s a large aluminum raised bezel at the back of the case to help protect the lens anytime you place this face down. There’s large cutouts on the right and left side for easy button access, and we have port cutouts at the bottom as well.
The interior of the case is also slightly textured and we also have that ring for maxave charging and using maxave accessories. The Bank’s
Aurora Case Design
Aurora Armor Air Case is just as lightweight coming in at 23.3 g and this is about 1.1 mm thick. This is also made of 600D Kevlar fiber material similar to the Armor Air Case, but the textured weave pattern on here is far more grippy and textured than on the Armor Air Case. So, if you want maximum grip, definitely look at the Aurora Armor Air Case. And in all other aspects, everything’s exactly the same. So, we have the aluminum rear raised bezel to protect the lens. We have the same large cutouts right and left side, the Max Safe charging ring, and port cutouts at the bottom. The Armor Grid case is the

heaviest of all the cases at around 36.8 g, but still fairly lightweight in the grand scheme of things. It’s also 1.3 mm thick, so a little bit thicker than the previous two cases. Now, this also has a DuPont Kevlar fiber build, but on the side, we have a TPU frame that goes all the way around. And notice that there’s no actual button cutout. So, this is a solid frame all the way through. And we actually have individual metallic button covers on the right and left side. We have the same type of aluminum alloy raised camera bezel to protect the camera lens. And we have cutouts at the bottom for the speaker grill and the USB type-C port. There’s a dimple type of patterning on the inside. And we have the Max Safe ring for Max Safe charging and Max Safe accessories.
And we have this very beautiful patterning weave going on in the back here in obsidian black. There’s also a logo as well. Now, this makes the case grippy on the back. The sides are a little bit smoother, so not as grippy, but still good.
ArmorAir Case Install
Installing the case is extremely straightforward. So, I’m just going to start at the top with the camera lens module. Just kind of snap that into all the corners, and we’re done. It’s that simple. The Armor Air case just pops and contrasts so nicely with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, especially in the silver color. The fitment is extremely good on here. It is so slim. It doesn’t really feel like you’ve added much at all. It’s just very tastefully done. The rear aluminum alloy bezel sticks up slightly from the three lens. So, if you place this face down, you’re not going to have any scratching to the lens, but I do wish it was a little bit more raised than it is. The phone is also securely retained in the case. I can’t just press at the back here and just pop it out. It’s very secure in here.
And that’s because if you take a look at the corners here, we actually have the frame wrapping around in front of the phone frame just ever so slightly to help keep it retained in there. Thanks to the raised corner bezels, if you place the phone screen side down, you don’t have to worry about the screen being scratched. None of the speaker grill or USB type-C port is obstructed in any way. Looking at these side bezels. So, they do extend slightly from the sides of the phone screen. But again, because we have the large corner bezels, that’s going to protect the screen as well when you place the screen

side down. Next, I’ll install the Aurora Armor Air Case, which is a fantastic looking case. So, just snap it in from all of the corners and you’re done. Now, it’s the same great type of fitment, but the hand feel is way better with the Aurora case because this is just far more grippy and just kind of raised patterning. It’s a way different experience than the default case. So, in all other aspects, basically the same. We have the same uh rear camera lens protection, huge cutouts for the buttons, so you have easy access to all of that. And we have the same level of protection when it comes to the raised bezels all the way around the case, similar to the Armor Air case. I’ll now
ArmorGrid Case Install
install the Armor Grid Armor Pro case. So, again, just snap it into the corners and you’re done. The Armor Grid case looks really great on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. And unlike the other cases, you can see we have full frame protection going on all the way around along with the precise cutouts for the speaker grill and USB type-C port. And we also have those metallic button covers. Now, in terms of the button responsiveness, so you can see if I do a volume down, volume up. You can see all of these buttons are very tactile and responsive. Same with turning the screen off. Now, because we do have a cover for the camera lens button, I’ll just double click. Go ahead, open up the camera app and then of course I could just go ahead and swipe between the different type of focal lengths.
So you can see you retain full capacitive touch to this button. I noticed that the aluminum alloy camera bezel on the Armor Grid Armor Pro case extends slightly more. So it’s a higher raised lip than on the Armor Air cases, which is nice to see. We also have a raised lip or bezel that goes all the way around the front of the phone screen. So if you place a screen side down, it’s fully elevated and protected.
Hand Feel
When it comes to handfield, while all of the cases feel pretty good in the hand, the Aurora Armor Air Case feels the most grippy and secure to me while still staying very thin and lightweight. In
Protection
terms of drop protection, the Armor Air Case is rated for up to 4 ft high. So, I assume the Aurora Armor Air Case would be fairly similar. Now, I didn’t find any data for the Armor Grid, but it should be even higher than the other two cases, and I’ll leave that in the video description when I get that information. However, even with up to a 4ft drop protection rating, you can see the side of the phone where the large cutouts are will still leave it susceptible to scratches due to the large cutouts. Max
Magsafe
safe charging works flawlessly on all three of the cases, and the magnetic hold is super secure when using Macsafe accessories as well. While the magnetic hold is strong enough for Maxafe charging and accessories, you won’t be able to magnetically mount any of the cases to metallic surfaces. All of the
Wobble
cases also exhibit zero wobbling when used horizontally or vertically. NFC
NFC
also works perfect on all of the cases.
GlassWarrior Screen Protector
To install the Glass Warrior screen protector, put your phone down on the included foam that was in the box. Clean the screen with the supplied wipe. Dry it off and use the dust sticker. Then place the applicator guide with top facing at the top of your phone. Pull on tab one. Press the black bar at the bottom to start the ear removal process. Then press down on tab two. And then finally tab three. If you have any remaining air bubbles like I did, just gently push them off to the side of the screen like I did. This is what the Glass Warrior screen protector looks like applied on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. And I’ll do a sideby-side shot so you can see a before and after. This has a sapphire coating for increased scratch resistance.
And it’s only about 0.3 mm thick, so you’ll be able to use this with a ton of different cases. This is what the Glass Warrior screen protector looks like when it’s installed on the Aurora Armor Air Case. So you can see the screen protector doesn’t really extend past the corner bezels of the case. So if you place this kind of screen side down, you’re still protected by the case bezels, but you also have increased protection to the screen, you know, from keys and scratches and things
