hey it’s Adrian and today I have the gray Spen case for the zold 6 now it’s a nice looking case there’s good grip ability however there’s a major deal breaker I find with this case that makes it hard for me to recommend it to anyone so let take a closer look and you could decide if this is worth it for you or if you have to explore other case options

the Box comes with the rear cover and include its slim S Pen front cover manual and additional S Pen nibs so this
Design
is the gray version of the Samsung official case with the S Pen and you could see that it’s not exactly color matched to the Silver Shadow color on the zold 6 so something to be mindful of now it is a soft touch type of case like in between soft touch and a hard case and it does have a matte type of finish I do have oily fingerprints and is doing a fairly good job at resisting those the case is fairly lightweight coming in at only 38 G now looking at the rear cover so we do have this type of metallic ring that’s going to surround the camera housing and then looking at the way it actually Clips onto the phone so you can see let me see if I can get Focus here so yeah we have small lips that protrude down that’s going to help this kind of clip onto the frame of the phone let me take a look at the other side and yeah you can see that goes all the way through and there’s no type of adhesive strips on the rear case because this is going to be pretty good to have a hold under we also have a cutout for the flash module and of course the S Pen housing along with the Samsung logo now I’m not really a fan of this type of mechanism to get access to the Spen basically you’re going to push down on this textured or rided area here and it’s going to force the pen to pop up you can see I’m actually putting a lot of effort it just popped up that’s what the side view looks like and I’m going to yank the S Pen out now if you take a closer look at this mechanism that’s exactly what’s going on so it’s just kind of pushing it out of place and it bounces back into place because it is spring-loaded so not really an elegant solution in my mind I would have expected better um this feels a bit cumbersome so let me try that again okay so you do have to put a decent amount of pressure and maybe this will get easier as you Loos in the S Pen you know more s time goes on the front case cover seems pretty fragile and I actually don’t have a lot of confidence I did buy the official case also and the front was the weak part because these adhesive strips so we have one here one at the bottom down here one at the top here and one all the way along the side I just found that after a certain amount of time this would just pop out of place I just don’t have a lot of confidence hopefully it’s better on this because I could see that the lips that they have here it actually does protrude down a little bit more than I remember on previous cases so hopefully that’s enough to actually keep this fairly in place all right so I’m going to clip the
Install
back cover on so this should be fair fairly simple and straightforward so yeah that went on very effortlessly and it actually looks and feels pretty good in the hand doesn’t add too much bulk just going to remove the adhesive strips on the front case and then just secure that on her all right so the case is now installed I’ve given it time for the adhesive to set I really kind of press down everywhere that I could to make sure it has pretty good adhesion now just taking a look at the raised front lip so you can see we have protection all the way through so that if you just put it right down your screen is going to be protected if you’re not running a screen protector which I normally don’t we still have access to all the ports and buttons along the sides there we go the cutouts line up nicely the only thing you’re going to be missing is the SIM card and for that you will have to pop out this front cover or front case and what happens when you pop that out well this is no longer effective because now the adhesive is way weaker this is really not a good system now one thing I noticed right away is look at this so this just kind of dangles or wobbles you know anytime you push on it and I find it when I’m opening the phone I have grip here and grip at the back here at near the hinge and then when I’m opening the phone I’m bending this inwards to open the phone now I can be be very Mindful and just uh kind of limit myself but this is still moving this is just not a practical or elegant solution and I don’t know why they keep doing this for all these cases um I hate this um the cheaper case did a much better job without any type of sway uh I just really can’t recommend this type of implementation on the front what would have helped is if they included some kind of hinge protection with an overlapping lip so that every time you open it your fingers would rest on that overlapping hinge protection instead of pressing on this overall though the case feels good in the H like I said you know it’s pretty good at resisting fingerprints with this type of matte finish that’s a cross between a hard cover and kind of soft touch type of case cuz you could see on the front here I just have fingerprints all over the place so the case is good in that regards easy Port access if we take a look at the camera module that raised lip is extending just slightly above the camera lens housing so you’ll be fine if you place this down it is easier to open and close the phone since the case adds some extra level of grip ability but the fact that this keeps moving out of the way and you can hear that in feel it it’s just not ideal for reference take a look at how well this cheap 1010 to11 case keeps the front case on there so we have a little piece of plastic that juts down there or protrudes out and that helps keep this front case nice and secure on this phone regardless of how many times I open it and close it no adhesives and you can see if I try to yank this like I can actually pull the frame but it’s actually not popping up like Samsung really needs to step their game up with these uh official cases because the adhesive is just not an elegant solution and here’s what the inside of the official case looks like so you can see there’s no plastic protrusions to help keep this in place you know extra safe like we did see on that cheaper case and in terms of
Wobble Test
rocking you can see that we still do have rocking because of that extended rais lip some cases you usually put some kind of additional plastic on the corner here to kind of balance that but it is not present here and then if we open the case fully we do have a lot of rocking of course because this is housing that very slim S Pen once you do pop the S Pen out
S Pen Responsiveness
it’s easy to go ahead and navigate very responsive and fluid by the way if
Cheap Case Alternative
you’re interested in this case this is only $10 to $11 us it’s a hard cover case it has hinge protection and you can actually remove this plastic if you don’t want it really raise lips for you know placing it down on surfaces and keeping it protected now I can’t say it would survive drops very easily but it’s fairly easy to open and close so yeah let me know down in the comments if you guys would like to see a review of this again only $10 to $11 us so

unfortunately I can’t recommend the official Samsung case for the zold 6 while it looks nice and it feels pretty good in the hand um there’s a major design flaw that I keep complaining about pretty much every generation and it’s still there the adhesive pads are not a great solution because if I want to remove this front case to kind of wipe my phone down give it a nice clean or to reapply a screen protector well this becomes kind of ineffective because the adhesive strips or the adhesive areas are no longer going to be strong necessitating me to go ahead and buy another front covered case it’s just not ideal or realistic so stay tuned I may review this clear case if enough of you want it and I’m definitely be reviewing these clear cases from spec I should also be getting in a carbon fiber case from Banks um that promises to also be slim and hopefully it fares better than the official case does but let me know your thoughts on the official case am I being too hard or unrealistic I really don’t think so it would have also been nice to have some level of hinch protection and then I could just remove it like I can and on this much cheaper clearer case here you know I’m just seeing a lot of areas for improvement but let me know what you guys think down in the comments below and if I saved you from making a huge mistake by purchasing this case can I ask a big favor would you mind liking and subscribing it truly does help me out Samsung does not send these products out to me and you can tell from my commentary they probably will never so I would truly appreciate the love and support and I hope to see you in a future video when I put the zold 6 up against the 24 Ultra and I review these other cases and if you found this video helpful consider checking out some of my other tech review videos I review a bunch of different Tech products I’m sure you’ll find something you love and I’ll see you in the next one soon [Music]
