hey it’s Adrian and if you just got your brand new zold 6 and you’re looking to protect it with a clear case you’re going to want to check out these two options from spec so I have their prido Luxe fold which has this shimmering or glitter effect and I have their prido perfect clear case now these have Micro band treatment or application to help resist stains and odor causing bacteria and these are also meant to survive up to a 13t drop even with the phone open thanks to the rubber cushioning so I’m going to put these on the zold 6 let you know how easy it is to install the handfield how much protection they provide and a wobble test and you can decide if this is worth it for you and if you are interested in picking these up I’ll leave a coupon code at the end of the video and in the video description but let’s take a closer look and a big thanks suspect for sending these out for review all right let’s
Package Contents
take a closer look at what comes in the boxes so it looks like it’s just a case with no other accessories so installation should be very simple and looking at the cases you could see that these cases have no hinge protection so if you’re looking for something with hinge protection you’ll have to look elsewhere now in terms of the design so it’s one piece of plastic you can see it’s connected here so it’s not two separate pieces it’s a one piece case so I’ll put on the clear case first since I
Perfect-Clear Case
think that’s what most people are going to want so I’ll just start with the camera module area first tuck that in there and that’s a super quick install so it’s already fitted and closed one of the quickest installs now taking a closer look we have the spec logo at the bottom left here and it’s basically nice and clear there’s not much of you know a texture or anything going on here so you can see the phone’s true colors and then we have no hinge protection on the side and on the front we have this front cover now with this little left frame here you can see that that’s moving in and out of place because there is no adhesive on it and it’s such a thin uh frame on the actual zold 6 now opening and closing it is pretty easy um I could see on the side here we have these raised type of um cushions here take a look here so you can see it’s much easier to open the phone since we have this little indent here uh really easy to open and close now one thing I notice is when I’m opening and closing my fingers naturally rest on this Frame that moves for you know just to have kind of grip or purchase and every time I open it that shifts out of place this is an issue I had with the official Samsung case which actually had adhesive so considering this doesn’t have uh any adhesive you know this is to be expected so you’ll have to see if this is something that bothers you long term or not but I can say this is definitely easier to open um because of these kind of extended uh griper protrusions here and looking at Port access so we have cutouts for microphones and the speaker Grill and on the bottom we have a large cutout for the charging port microphone and another speaker Grill cutout obviously on the other side there’s no hinge protection at all and on the side with the power button and rocker you could see that this piece of plastic here extends out quite a bit so it’s a pretty big indent here now in terms of how well you can lock and unlock the phone I can still easily do it I can do volume down volume up and it seems fine enough you just have to press a little bit more but because the fingerprint reader is so sensitive you can see I can just gently put my finger under so unlocking and locking the phone is still relatively easy and looking at protection so you could see the camera lens and modules there and the plastic portion does extend enough to cover that in case B they were to place this flat down on a table or if it was to fall they are sufficiently cushioned same with the volume button and the power button you can see that’s a pretty big indent and just overall looking at the front here you can see how much those lips are raised on the top the bottom and on the sides and in terms of the hand field it does add some bulk to it you can definitely see where the edge of the phone ends and how much thick plastic is hair to offer protection in the rais lip however it doesn’t feel like too unwieldy like I could still go ahead and manipulate the phone open it easily open and close um so yeah I really do like the design in terms of how they’ve made this really easy to open and it’s sufficiently padded everywhere where I wouldn’t mind dropping it you can see as I drop it it has a tendency to just kind of bounce back up a bit because of the rubber in here and in terms of grip ability it’s kind of a blend between a super hard plastic case and kind of a soft feel and you can see as I run my thumb it’s not super smooth there is a little bit of friction as I Glide so you do have a little bit of grip especially if you have kind of like oily um fingerprints you will be able to grip it of course on the hin side it’s going to be very slippery and you’ll have to be mindful of this when you open and close it so you don’t kind of you know just lose control opening and closing it but overall it’s a good hand feel not too much bulk and it also feels very secure I don’t feel like the case is going to come apart if I was to try and remove the case this is how quickly it can be done so that’s the front cover done and then the rear cover and then yeah the case is off and then in terms of putting it back on very quick again just lay it over press it down snaps into place and it just stays in place so it’s a pretty good design considering it’s a onepiece case and there’s also no type of flexing or shifting of the case except for this one area everywhere else it’s nice and snug and tight on here when you open and close also notice that if I wanted to watch kind of a vertical video on Tik Tok I could just put the phone down hit the table and you know it actually stays decently in place considering um this is all nice and flat and thick and cushioned enough so overall I would say you can definitely trust this clear case it’s a softer type of plastic it’s not that super hard type of plastic so it does have some give we have uh rubber cushions around it which are meant to compress every time this gets get dropped or on impact and this can be dropped up to 13 ft and it will still be protected now when it’s open that’s where you’re going to get most of the protection because the hinge is not exposed so you know it can just be dropped that way however if you were to drop it you know and it lands H inside down well you’re going to be out of luck especially since this moves out of the way but once it’s opened if it’s dropped you can see you have so much raised protection it’s pretty much going to be cushion everywhere when this is dropped so some to be mindful of one area where
Improvement
you’re not getting full protection aside from the hinge is when we open the inner screen up you could see this black frame on the phone it lines up pretty much exactly with the raised lip from the case so if this was supposed to be placed face down or dropped face down there’s not going to be any type of protection to the inner screen and I think the reason for that is that they wanted to ensure that the hinge folded perfectly flat so don’t expect any protection if the phone is to land you know inner screen side down you can see there’s a very small nodule or bump right on the corners of the case on the inside but for me it’s still not high enough to give me confidence if I was supposed to drop this phone face down I would have liked to see it a little bit thicker even if it meant the hinge wouldn’t close perfectly flat and let’s
Wobble Test
take a look at the wobble test so just straight down like this little bit of wobble um not the worst that I’ve seen pretty manageable and then if we open the phone fully let’s see so a little bit of wobble again not too much and if you take a look at a top down view we can see that the camera module area just protrudes a little bit not too bad now if you’re going to use this with an Spen this is a type of wobble you can expect so I’ll just do like and sub and you can see not much wobble it’s very usable now the only way you’re going to get wobble is if you put your hand or your side of your hand down but as long as you keep it down you can still go ahead and you know use this pretty easily without significant wobbles so it’s pretty good all right so
Lux Case
I’m going to take off the clear case and put on their pridal Luxe case which is this glitter and shimmering type and that’s nice and easy just going to pop this on I’ll leave it this way so you can see just basically press down on every corner and it’s installed and taking a look at the Luxe case so it’s pretty much the same as the pral clear it’s just that it has the shimmering or glitter effect which I really like but yeah pretty much the camera lens module juts out or protrudes just about the same so in terms of wobble it’s exactly the same as I demonstrated on the previous case you know when I was using the Spen same thing when it’s just flat down like that and in terms of access exactly the same so easy fingerprint reader same type of cutouts for the ports as well as well and the same uh unprotected hinge at the side here so yeah pretty much everything is the same it’s just that the design has change so it’s up to you you know which do you think looks better the Luxe or the perfect clear and I prefer the Luxe look much better by the way the hand feel feels exactly the same as on the perfect clear case because the shimmering or glitter effect can’t be felt on the outside so it’s basically the same type of grip ability and with both of the
