Intro

hey guys it’s Adrien and I just got the brand new Samsung Galaxy s25 Ultra in this titanium white silver color which looks really nice now I also have the s24 ultra this is a phone I really love and I’ve been using it as my daily driver so is it really worth upgrading to the s25 ultra especially if you’re coming from the s24 ultra like me well let’s take a quick first look at some of the key differences and you can let me know your thoughts below first let’s
Design

take a look at the design since you could see that the s25 ultra does have rounded and curved Corners whereas on the s24 ultra we have these squared off Corners now personally I prefer the look of the squared off Corners I feel a lot of phone brands just kind to go with this curved corners and it looks a bit Bland and boring to me now definitely this will be more comfy to hold you know when it’s pressing into your palm compared to the s24 ultra however no one is really running these phones without a case so as soon as you add a case on that point kind of becomes irrelevant because anytime you put a case on it’s going to be comfortable anyway when it comes to the weight the s24 ultra is coming in at around 232 or 233 G and the s25 ultra is coming in and an impressive 218 G that means that the s25 ultra is actually around 14 G lighter in terms of the phone’s thickness so the s25 ultra comes in at 0.4 mm thinner than on the previous s24 Ultra now if I have to comment on the actual hand feel between both of the these phones given that the s25 ultra is 0.4 mm thinner I actually don’t feel that it’s thinner and I actually prefer the hand feel of the s24 ultra and the reason for that is you could see if I do a top down view of the s24 ultra it has this type of slight curvature when I take a top down look and this curvature allows me to kind of you know hug it very nicely whereas on the s25 ultra if I do a side view here you can see it’s a straight shot just flush down so this actual edge here is not tapered or curved in any way and it’s actually not as pleasant of a hand fill as with the s24 ultra however I can definitely feel the 14 G reduction on the s25 ultra compared to the s24 ultra so if the weight on the s24 ultra was you know kind of a problem for you or you were having problems balancing this on a gimbal then yes the s25 ultra is an improvement in terms of weight what’s also impressive about that 14 G weight reduction is that on the s24 ultra this is a 6.8 in screen however on the s25 ultra it’s actually a 6.9 in screen so they’ve managed to make the phone 14 G lighter a little bit thinner and fit in a slightly larger screen pretty impressive looking at the rest of the phone body so you can see that the s25 ultra is definitely a slightly smaller phone than on the s24 ultra and if I kind of you know like superimpose or over overlay them the s24 ultra kind of sticks out just slightly compared to the s25 ultra and this is what a top down view looks like so we have the two microphones there this is what the side view looks like and again this is kind of a rounded type of corner whereas this is nice and flush and then if we take a look at the bottom of the phones basically everything is in the same place now this speaker Grill is definitely a little bit wider on the s25 ultra compared to the s24 ultra so I’ll do a sound demo to see you know what kind of impact that makes and then if we take a look at where the Spen is hous if I do kind of a side view here you could see that they both jet out or protrue just slightly to make accessing them very easy however one thing that I really do not like about the S Pen placement on the s25 ultra is you could see that because of that rounded Corner the side end of the S Pen actually sticks out or protrudes more and it’s not a symmetrical type of protrusion however if we look on the s20 for Ultra it’s completely consistent with the amount of the S Pen tip or the Spen end that sticks out and then if we take a look back at the s25 ultra you could see the left side of the Spen uh and right there is sticks out a little bit more than on the other side because they’ve chosen to go with this rounded type of frame instead of you know kind of offsetting the SP Spen in a little bit more so that’s kind of a step back in terms of the design for me but let me know what you guys think if I’m just being you know kind of completely OCD or not however that in no way affects your ability to just easily gain access to the Spen and just pop it right back in and looking at the camera module so basically about the same the position has changed a little bit but there’s a design element here that I’m really not a fan of and you could see that on the s24 ultra the camera modules or the lens modules they’re very flush with the rear of the case I can’t actually fit my fingernail in here in any capacity however on the s25 ultra there’s actually a little Gap right between the camera lens and the cases and I can actually fit my fingernail under there and I have no clue why they would choose a design like this because this is just going to get a lot of you know dust and stuff just kind of Trapped Under the camera lens and make it almost impossible to clean out you know so you will have to kind of get a case that has individual lens cutouts to really minimize that so I feel that’s another step down in terms of the design there’s a 40% larger Vapor chamber on the s25 ultra so we’re supposed to get better thermals and gaming performance now I will put that up against the s24 ultra in my full review so stay tuned for that
Screen

in terms of screen performance both of these screens are fantastic so we do have the slightly larger 6.9 in screen on the s25 ultra compared to the 6.8 in screen on the s24 ultra however both screens have a peak brightness of 2600 so this is going to be perfect for any type of bright and outdoor viewing even though both screens are 120 HZ refresh rate I could definitely tell as I’m swiping through these apps it’s more quicker or more fluid on the s25 ultra than on the s24 ultra there’s a little bit of a delay or lag you could probably see that on camera so yeah they’ve done something to make the animations much more fluid now if you remember back to the s24 launch there was a lot of talk about kind of the screen being flat or the colors looking washed out and I did calibrate the settings on the s24 ultra and on the s25 ultra on the left here so they’re both set the Vivid they’re both at the same white balance and they both have the Vivid slider all the way to the max now I don’t know if you can tell on the camera but looking at it in person it actually seems like the s24 ultra has a cooler color temperature even though it’s set exactly the same as on the s25 ultra and I’m someone who prefers a cooler color temperature so I actually have to move this slide over to the coolest to kind of get it to actually match kind of what’s going on on the s24 ultra so for me that’s a bit of a step down it kind of seems the trend is going towards warmer maybe for ey Health um you know maybe that’s a good thing but I’m really not a fan of it and this is what the animation looks like when you have a ton of apps open so on the s24 ultra you can see that’s very quick and fluid and all of the apps are kind of you know on this horizontal type of timeline now if we take a look at the s25 ultra if I flick through it’s not as quick as on the s24 ultra and the apps are kind of layered behind each panel you could see it’s a nicer or more elegant type of implementation while you cycle through the apps the glass on the s25 ultra is Corning Gorilla armor to and on the s24 ultra it’s Corning Gorilla armor so it is upgraded both front and back on the s25 ultra but hopefully none of us drops our phone where that has to come into play I am happy that these screens on both phones are perfectly flat so if I do a top down view here and then we do kind of a corner view you could see that this is nicely flat and flush right with the titanium frame on the s24 ultra and same as with the s25 ultra it is nice and flush so no rounded or curved screens on here both phones also have that fantastic anti-reflective coating on here so you can see as I kind of angle and rotate the phone it’s not picking up much glare or reflection let’s talk
Cameras

about the camera performance so both phones have the same 200 map wide lens we also have a 10 map telephoto and a 50 megapix kind of super telephoto lens now what has changed on the s25 ultra is that we have a 50 megapix Ultra wide lens whereas on the s24 ultra it’s a 12 mapel Ultra wide lens let’s take a look at the camera UI for both phone so s25 Ultra on the left here and look at that focal range so we could go from Ultra wide to wide we can go 2x if you use the goodlock app you can get access to the 2x we can go 3x 5x and then 10x like having that type of focal versatility on a phone is just really fantastic now one thing to note is that it’s set to 12 megapixels you can see 12 at the top right there and everything is matched on both phones however if I go ahead and I switch the 12 to say taking a 50 megapixel shot on on the s25 ultra I can take an ultra wide a wide and then a 5x and on the s24 ultra I can only limit it to the 1X and 5x so we do have the ultrawide option on the s25 ultra which is better and if we switch that to a 200 megapixel photo they’re both capped at the 1X lens looking at video on both of the phones so I’m set the UHD 60 or 4K 60 on both phones and and take a look at the focal range so we can go from Ultra wide all the way to 5x or with a 10x digital crop so if I start a recording on both phones I can easily switch between the different focal lengths no issues at all so both of these are matched in terms of 4K now if I go ahead stop that and I drop this over to 8K I’m CA to 830 on both phones I’ll go 8K right here 8K 30 so you can see look at the focal range now so on the s24 ultra I can record in 1X and that’s it I can’t actually switch between focal lengths so it’s either 1X or 5x and then with the s25 ultra I’ll start recording at 1X I can stop that but I can also additionally record 5x or the ultra y so the def knif Edge goes to the s25 ultra just in terms of focal versatility so does the jump from the 12 megap Ultra wide to the 50 megapixel Ultra wide on the s25 ultra matter yes it does matter so on the s24 ultra I’m going to zoom in you know basically as much as I can and that’s how much I could zoom in on the S14 Ultra and I’m going to zoom in the same amount or I’ll try to match it on the s25 ultra so those look to be about the same size and if you take a look at both images you could see how this is you know more blurry and there’s more grain going on in the image you know kind of like a little bit of artifacting however on the s25 ultra thanks to that 50 megapixel um you know image or resolution we have here you can see it’s a much clearer and Sharper Image all the way through the images look fantastic on both phones so I have the s24 ultra on the right and then the s25 ultra on the left now I can tell that the s25 ultra is making the image a little bit brighter um because if I take a look at the shoes and this uh blue ha I could tell it’s a little bit brighter and a little less saturated than on the 24 Ultra but nothing you know kind of whirls apart I would be happy with either image from either phone again you could see here it’s a little bit brighter than on the s24 ultra going to the camera um maybe very close or a little bit closer but you could definitely tell where the logo is it’s a little bit more blown out on the s25 ultra and then looking at this controller um yeah kind of the same it’s a little bit lighter I think it’s going to come down to personal preference both look great uh no real complaints there both phones look pretty much identical to me in terms of video performance the colors do seem a little bit more saturated on the s25 ultra but there’s no major difference in terms of video quality the selfie cam remains unchanged at 12 mapel and you could do 4K recordings at 30 or 60 frames per second
S-PEN

let’s talk about the S Pen so here’s the S Pen for the s25 ultra and the s24 ultra and they look basically identical however the s25 ultra as Spen is handicapped because there’s no Bluetooth functionality on there like with the s24 ultra now even though a lot of users maybe don’t use Bluetooth functionality I’m kind of of the opinion that you know it’s kind of nice to have it and not need it then you know need it and not have it now do I sound a bit salty well kind of yeah I am someone who actually use the remote trigger on this because I would kind of Mount my phone magnetically with you know a Mac back case and then I would just press the button to remotely trigger for group shots it’s like that’s come in handy so many times so look I can press this button I could take one photo if people are going to be blinking I could press and hold this down and I can take burst shots like that just instantly and then if I press that same button on the S Spen on the s25 ultra well nothing is really happening so thanks a lot for
Speaker

that
Other Changes

Samsung the s25 ultra is is also running the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip which is a 3 nanom process and on the s24 ultra we’re running the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 which is on the 4 nanometer process so this is supposed to be a more efficient and Powerful chip at the same time and then paired with that 40% uh larger Vapor chamber we should get better thermos again this is something I’m going to test in my full review to let you know kind of you know real world what kind of improvements can you expect over the s24 ultra I’ll probably throw in the Z F 6 in some of those benchmarks if you guys want to see that as well and then in terms of the GPU this is running or the s25 ultra is running the 830 adreno 830 GPU whereas the s24 ultra is running the adreno 750 GPU again these are things I will Benchmark in my full
Full Review Soon!

review so I’m going to wrap it up here for the first impressions but stay tuned for my full review because I’m going to get into thermal some benchmarks battery tests temperatures and also stick around because I will be reviewing a lot of different cases P for the s25 ultra if you want the best possible protection and if you found this video helpful please consider liking and subscribing it truly does help me out as a small and growing Channel and I really do appreciate it
