If you just got your brand new S26 Ultra and you want serious protection, you have to check out the UB Grip case and ProMac case from Subcase. The UB Grip case gives you up to 15 ft of drop protection thanks to the raised lips on the front and back and the ML STD A10H rating. There’s a built-in kickstand for horizontal or vertical viewing and strong N52 magnets allow you to use Max Safe charging and Macsafe accessories. You can also use CHI wireless charging, NFC uses unaffected, and Espen us is unaffected as well. And it comes in a ton of color options as well. The Pro Mac case gives you all of those features along with additional drop protection and an optional belt holster.

You can pair the cases with their Mac Flip wallet, which doubles as a table stand, an extended tripod, and a holder for shooting selfie modes or taking time-lapse video. While these cases offer great protection for your S26 Ultra, there’s one small quirk to be aware of. So, let’s take a closer look. And a big thanks to Subcase for sending these out for review.

card. In the box for the Pro Mac case, you get the top and bottom case, and the top case does have a built-in screen protector, extended warranty card, manual, belt holster, and an additional front case without the screen protector.

weight, all of the UB Grip cases come in between 67 to 69 g. So, most of the cases are a combination PC and TPU build with the notable exceptions being the Aramid fiber case and the leather case. All of the cases are rated for up to 15 ft of drop protection. Now, on the rear, we do have rear camera bezels or a lip and that extends by 1.5 mm. On the front, we have an extended front bezel or lip, and this is extended by 2 mm. Now, we also have shock absorbing corners. We have two large camera cutouts on the rear. So, depending on the size of a lens protector, you may actually be able to fit one in there. There’s button covers on the side along with these textured side grips, both on the right and left side, that help with grip.

On the other side of the button covers, it has a smooth type of finish, so there’s no worries about your buttons getting scratched. There’s also a cutout on the very top and at the bottom we have multiple cutouts for the port speaker grill, a lanyard loop and a cutout for easy spen access. We have strong N52 magnets for Maxave charging and to attach Maxafe accessories. Now the kickstand is an aluminum alloy kickstand. You can pull this out and you can angle it up to 120° both for horizontal or vertical viewing. And when you’re done with it, you just pop it into place till you hear a click just like so. The inside of the case is this smooth type of plastic. On the solid color cases, the design elements are basically exactly the same.

However, this material does feel slightly more grippy than on the frosted cases. And here’s what the frosted cases look like if you’re interested in those. And the two unique cases are the aromid fiber case and the brown leather case. So, design-wise, basically everything is the same except for the material and finish. So, the armid fiber case, as I run my finger along here, I could feel that kind of weave pattern. And this is very grippy. I do like the feel of this. Now, the leather case, it has a little bit of grip and texture as well, more than the frosted and the solid cases. The Pro Mac

case is also a PC and TPU build. Now, this is a two-part case, so we have the rear part of the case and a front part as well. Now, one of these comes with a screen protector pre-installed, and you have the front case with just the frame. If you run the case without the screen protector, it’s around 79 g. And if you add in the screen protector, then it’s around 85 g. So looking at the front, we do have this kind of protective bezel that goes all the way around. Now, this extra reinforcement does give you up to 20 ft of drop protection. So an additional 5 ft from the UB grip case. There’s also reinforced shock absorbing corners. The rear of the case has an aluminum alloy kickstand. So this kickstand can be angulated out both for horizontal or vertical viewing.

And when you’re done, it snaps into place nice and flush. So you can go ahead and mount, you know, Max Safe accessories or use Mac safe charging. Now for the rear camera lens, we do have raised bezels right here for protection. And on the front, we have 2 mm of front lip or raised bezel. We have the subcase logo, a textured grip on the right side to just improve the grip on the case along with button covers. And on the left side, that textured grip runs pretty much the entire length. There’s a cutout on the top. And at the bottom, we also have cutouts for the USB charging port, speaker grill, SPEN access, and a cutout to run a lanyard loop. The other side of the button covers is also smooth to prevent scratching to your phone. We have two large rear camera cutouts.

Now, depending on if you want to use a lens protector, you may be able to. And note that it does take some effort to, you know, pry this down and just kind of lift the front case up from around the case frame. So, you don’t have to worry about your phone just popping out of this. It’s nice and secure once it’s properly retained in here. The belt holster comes in at around 81 to 82 g. So, you can see we have retention clips on all of the sides. And on the back, we have the belt clip right here. And this does rotate a full 360°. The Pro Mac case also comes in green, which looks

really nice. The wallet comes in at around 118 g. Now, that is hefty for a wallet, but this is packing a ton of features. So, we have this aramid fiber kind of look at the top here, which looks really nice. And then on the bottom, this is where we have this area that we can lift up to get access to the cards. And you can see there’s quite a bit of room in here. You can insert up to five cards. Now, it comes with an RFID blocking card if you want to use that. Now, if your case doesn’t have any type of magnets, you can use the supplied magnetic mounting ring with adhesive on the back. Installing the S26

Ultra in the UB Grip case is really easy. So, I’m going to stop in the top right corner where the camera lens are and just easily slide this into place. And just like that, we’re done. And this

is what the S26 Ultra looks like in the subcase aramid fiber case. This just looks so sharp. Contrast really well with the aramid fiber and the white of the S26 Ultra. The case fitment is solid on here. And even though I already have a pre-applied tempered glass screen protector on the S26 Ultra, the case went on no problems at all. And you can see it’s a seamless type of fit and coverage all the way through. The top cutout is completely unobstructed. And that goes for the bottom cutouts as well. Now, if I want to get access to the S Pen, it’s really easy to just pop that out and then put it back in. Even with the raised protective bezel or lip on the front, I still have easy access to the swipe out panel. And all of the buttons still remain nice and tactile.

The rear camera lens are also nicely protected thanks to the raised bezels. And if you were to place this camera side down, there’s no chance of them getting scratched. This also feels really good in the hand, so it’s very easy for me to just rotate this side to side, up and down. just a ton of grip thanks to the aramid fiber build and the side grips as well. By the way, this is what the S26 Ultra looks like in the brown leather case. If you use CHI

wireless charging, it’s completely unaffected and thanks to the strong magnets on here, Maxive charging is completely unaffected as well.

Drop Protection

I dropped my phone screen side down and camera side down and there was no damage at all. That’s thanks to the rated 15 ft of drop protection thanks to the ML

STD810H rating. You can also use the kickstand for vertical or horizontal viewing. And you can see if I bang on the table, it remains rock solid stable.

SPEN use is also completely unaffected by the magnets. NFC use is also

completely unaffected. Since the rear camera lens does stick out from the rest of the case, there is a little bit of wobble whenever you’re using the phone if you tap too hard. If you need a

little bit more protection, you could use the Pro Max case. So, to get the S26 Ultra in, you first you’re going to separate the top case from the bottom case. You’re just going to press down in the bottom right corner to lift up the top frame. Line it up in the S26 Ultra and then just seat everything in, making sure that the front lips wrap around nicely with the front frame. You can also use the kickstand for vertical or horizontal viewing, and it’s a very stable experience. It’s still very easy for me to manipulate the phone even with the Pro Mac case on. Now, it is grippy on the sides. On the back, it’s more of a matte type of finish. If you’ll be using the optional holster, you’re going to put the phone screen side down.

You’re going to start on this side, pull back on this retention clip, and you can see the phone is nicely housed in there very securely. And if you do a top- down view, you can see there’s actually a gap here so that the front of the phone is not actually making contact with the holster. Now, you may have an idea and you may say, “Hey, well, I want to see my phone screen maybe.” Well, if you go ahead and you try to angle it in this way, you can see that where the rear bezels are for the rear camera lens, it’s actually making contact with holster. So, this is not the ideal way to seat it, even though it seems very stable and secure even this way as well. So, you have two options if you really want to. The Pro Mac case also has a little bit of wobble, similar to the

grip case. Attaching the wallet is really simple. You’re just going to snap it into place. And once it’s snapped into place, you can see I can shake the phone sideways and from the top and the hold is pretty strong on here. Now, the one minor quirk I mentioned at the start of the video, you can see if I try to detach the wallet, it does pull the kickstand out by a bit because it’s a strong magnetic hold. So, the way to get around that is when you’re detaching Maxive accessories, lift upwards. You can see if you lift upwards, the kickstand stays in place. And that’s going to go for if you’re using Max Safe charging as well. And you can see with the wallet attached to the UB grip case, the bottom lens is in no way obstructed or covered.

So, if you’ve always had a problem with wallets that do that, this is going to be the perfect wallet for you. To use the wallet as a kickstand or viewing stand, what I like to do is first detach the wallet first. Then, I’ll angulate it how I like. So, for example, this type of angulation, snap it into place on the phone, and I could go ahead and just watch my content just like so. Now, if I go ahead and bang on this, you can see the wallet moves, but it doesn’t detach from the phone at all. It’s a stronghold. Now, if I go ahead and do the same, I can do that for portrait style or vertical viewing as well. If I wanted to use the built-in tripod to elevate my phone, say I’m working at a laptop, I just want something on the screen while I’m working.

I’ll angle the wallet down, then I’ll pull out the kickstand, which doubles as the card holder, and I can position it just like so. And you can see if I bang on the table again, very strong hold. And of course, I can do this uh horizontally as well if I just want a widecreen view. Again, stays very stable. I have five cards. One of them is the RFID blocking card. And I can easily just slide this into place just like so. Snap this down. They stay nice and secure. And when I want to get access, I just lift this up, push from the back here, and I have access to all of my cart. Another benefit of the wallet is using it as a hand grip or kind of like a selfie stick.

So you can see if I angle it up like this, I can go ahead attach my phone and then I can actually hold it just like this and go ahead, you know, kind of walk and talk while it’s filming me. The other thing I can do is I can actually go ahead angle it kind of up just like that and then mount the phone like this and I’m actually using the wallet kind of as a grip or holder. It actually opens up the possibility to take time-lapse video or just smooth stable video for extended periods of time rather than handholding. Another benefit of keeping the wallet on the back of the phone is that if you were to place this camera side down, it actually eliminates a ton of wobble. So,
