Intro
hey it’s Adrian and today I’m taking a look at sound ped’s brand new capsule 3 Pro Plus now these actually sound better than the Sound ped’s air4 Pro which already sounded fantastic to start with but that’s thanks in part to the new xmm silicon drivers in here and you’re going to be seeing a lot of earbuds with the x-m drivers but for the price of these costs these are an excellent value right now on top of that we also have ldac active noise cancellation transparency mode they’re also super lightweight and comfortable to wear and you can get up to 43 hours of battery life with the charging case these are also super loud and they’re the loudest pair of earbuds I’ve used so far now there are a couple of features missing that may be deal breakers for you so let’s take a closer look at how well they perform and a big thanks to sound feeds for sending these out for a review in the box we have the

Design
the carrying and charging case for the capsule 3 Pro Plus really reminds me of the sound feeds air4 Pro case as well and we have the writing on there here your imagination which is sound feed slogan along with an LED indicator light whenever you’re charging this up and just to show the battery status now we also have a USB type-c port to charge it and a button to help with pairing and resetting on the very rear we have the sound PS writing right there and then we just have this pretty much type of matte finish all the way around um it is catching a little little bit of the oils from my finger but not really um fingerprints exactly now when you open it up this is what it looks like so it looks like we have some uh protective um peels here to just prevent it from discharging and in terms of taking it in and out well it’s very easy to just pop the earbuds in and out of the case effortlessly and here’s what the earbuds look like up close so taking a look at the side we have the Sound Pizza logo right here and this is where the touch control is and then there’s this type of brass or gold type of um finish here that’s very smooth to the touch at the very bottom we have the charging contacts some microphone ports and then this is what the speakers look like and this is using their XM drivers which are 12 mm Dynamic uh drivers which are supposed to produce much better sound than drivers that use a plastic type of membrane so this this is the right earbud and then we have the left earbud and yes the design pretty much reminiscent of what the air4 pros look like but these are supposed to deliver far better sound which we’ll test out later the earbuds are super lightweight coming in at only 5 G each and when you add the carrying case it comes up to 50

Pairing
Pete’s audio app so I’m now going to pair the earbuds for the first time so I’ll click on add the device and I’ll just open the case up and I did remove the protective peels on here so let’s go to pairing and I can already see it here so capsule 3 Pro Plus pair and it is that easy we’re already done now what I can do additionally is I can go into the settings here and I could see that the toggle for ldac is off now if I want the best quality sound coming out of these since my phone supports it I’m going to have to toggle l back on but I will lose multipoint functionality now that the capsule 3 Pro
Multi Point
Plus is connected to my s24 ultra I’ve enabled the option for double device or multipoint and I’ve already disabled ldac now what I’m going to do to pair it on my second phone is I’ll just turn Bluetooth off on my first phone and then I’ll go ahead hit scan on my zold 6 and I’ll wait for it to find the capsule 3 Pro Plus right on here here we go tap on that and let’s pair it and and I can see that it’s now connected on my zold 6 I’ll go ahead turn bluetooth back on connect it right here and we can see that it’s simultaneously connected to both my zold 6 and my s24 ultra and let’s do a quick demo so I’ll play the audio from the zold 6 I can just pause it right there and play on s24 Ultra [Music] let’s take a look at the options in the
Soundpeats App
Pete’s audio app so once you open the app up and the earbuds are connected you can see the battery level for the right and left earbud you can also cycle through noise cancelling normal mode or the transparency mode you can also disable all touch controls so that you just use your device for the controls enable game mode where you’ll have up to 70 milliseconds of latency and then you can also enable the double device or multi-point connectivity which will disable ldac so if you’re having problems pairing make sure this option is toggled on and then if we go into custom key this is where you could remap the touch control so I have it set exactly how I like it but you can see that you know if I tapped on say the long press on the right earbud I can go ahead and pick whatever I like or set it to unef find so you do have a lot of options on here if we tap on the menu in the top right corner we can take a look at the device information check to see if there’s any firmware upgrades which there’s not and then you can also go ahead and change the headphone prompt tone so you can set it to English Chinese German or Japanese on the bottom we can tap on this equalizer icon here and we have this option for adaptive equalizer it does mention to turn off music before testing now I haven’t used this because I’ve been perfectly happy with the equalizers that come here so under the preset equalizers you can expand it and I’ve been switching between soundspeed classic and the electronic one so those are my two preferred and you do also have a base boost but I already find the base to be um quite adequate even on the electronic setting here now you can also go ahead and set up to eight different custom equalizers if you like so you can fine-tune everything exactly how you want it on the last tab this is where we can change the settings in the app so here are the available languages it can either follow what’s on the phone you can switch between uh simplified traditional Chinese English French German uh Italian Spanish and Japanese
Controls
the touch controls are fantastic and very responsive on here so a single tap on the right one will increase the volume and a single tap on the left will decrease the volume now a double tap will pause music and a double tap again will resume music and I’ve set it for both the right and left to function in this same way with the double tap now if I do a triple tap it’s going to forward to the next track and then a triple tap on the other one will go back to previous track and then pressing and holding for 1.5 seconds you can switch it to do you know active noise cancellation Voice Assistant game mode Etc all right let’s talk about the Sound
Sound
Performance since it’s fantastic on these things to the new XM silicon drivers now compared to the air4 pros they use a plastic membrane for the drivers but these are using a silicon membrane which promises faster response times and it makes it more robust as well and yeah the XM silicon drivers are not marketing hype they actually do deliver so I listen to these with ldac on I use the electronic equalizer most of the time and sometimes I would go to the sound Feats classic but I only have to keep my volume pretty much between 50 to 60% and these sounded so fantastic it was loud enough for me because generally on other pairs of earbuds I’m listening you know around 80 90 sometimes even close to 100% I can’t even go that near to 100% with these because they’re just how loud rich and expansive they sound and if you’re a Bas head you’re not going to be disappointed with these so as soon as you put these on you’re going to be using the classic equalizer I highly recommend switching to the electronic equalizer it’s really going to boost the base but there is also a dedicated base boost equalizer I find it does a little bit too much but if you listen to you know Bas heavy songs like Get Low by DJ sake you’re going to hear that you know nice sharp thump with a good long base Decay vocals also come through very cleanly and pristinely on these of course it’s going to depend on The Equalizer you’re using but they’ve tuned these very well with these 12 mm Dynamic drivers and quick note so the San P air4 Pro have 13 mm drivers but these are just tuned and sound much better with the XM silicon drivers so yeah it really does deliver you know a rich and expansive Sound Stage and like I showed earlier you know you do have up to I believe eight different equal izers so you can really fine tune it for any type of music you’re listening to when
ANC
it comes to active noise cancellation I would just rate the performance as average I mean they do a decent enough job but it’s also going to depend on the fitment you know how well these adapt to your ear and then also the volume you’re listening to music around so even when I’m listening to 50 to 60% I could still you know kind of snap my finger um and hear a little bit of noise coming through even with active noise cancellation turn on so yeah don’t expect any miracles however when it comes to transparency mode it was very transparent there’s some modes where it’s like a little bit muffled sounding but with these the transparency mode works perfectly these are also super
Comfort
comfortable and lightweight coming in at only 5 G per earbud and I normally wear these for 3 to 4 hours at a time without any issues and even when I’m like brushing my teeth at night I have these on and even though my mouth’s moving all weird they do a pretty good job of just you know kind of staying in place even if I bang on them it’s still pretty fine
Mic
so I’ve used these on a call so far and I didn’t have any complaints like the audio was unclear or like I sounded too far away but here’s a demo of what the microphone pickup sounds like all right I’m going to do a microphone test so you can hear what the audio pickup sounds like here’s a demo of what the soundbeat capsule 3 Pro Plus microphone sound like when speaking in a fairly quiet room and here’s what the microphones sound like in terms of noise cancellation so I have some simulated background release playing right there here’s an example of what the sound capsule 3 Pro Plus sound like when speaking in a fairly noisy
Gaming
environment and if you plan on doing casual gaming on your phone you could turn on the game mode which is going to drop the latency to as low as 70 milliseconds the battery life is rated
Battery
for up to 6 and 1 half hours on these but in my testing I’ve gotten between 3 to 4 hours now if I listen with ldac and C on and with the volume set to around 50% I’m getting a little over 3 hours now if I turn ldac off keep ANC on and the volume again at around 50% I’m getting a little over 4 hours so yeah it’s possible to probably get more than that if you’re willing to drop your volume down and do without ANC so something to be mindful of so yeah the
Recommended?
