hey guys welcome to my channel dem crum lease tech today i want to share my experience using the ergo chair 2 by autonomous not a lot of us are working from home myself included i found that the chair that i was using just wasn’t doing it anymore i’m usually sitting for you know six to ten hours a day sometimes more and you know at the end of the day i had a lot of low back pain and just general you know tiredness and fatigue so i decided to try the autonomous um oregon chair too based on all the positive reviews i saw online so i’m gonna share my experience using it for about two months now now i’m not using it here it’s um pretty tight down here i’m using it kind of like in a home office but that room is kind of small and tight to you know really show you all the features so i’m going to just show it to you in the living room so let’s go check it out
– Chair Setup
okay guys i just want to play a quick video to show you what the setup process was like i set it up by myself and it wasn’t too bad but if you have two people you know it’s going to be much quicker the other thing i want to mention is the box is quite large like some of the other reviewers have been saying so um if you’re not comfortable lifting you know heavier things you know get help because it is quite large i had a pretty hard time fitting it in my actual car too but you know i’ll put a i’ll put a video you can see what i mean okay guys so now i’m in the actual chair i’m about 5 11 and 170 pounds just to give you reference when i’m sitting here and i forgot to mention this chair retails for about 500 canadian after tax or 370 us plus whatever state tax you’re paying it is a bit more expensive than some of the chairs you’d find at staples but you do get much more functions and features with it so i think it is worth the price if you were looking at some of the higher end shares like the hermann miller lines you know you’re paying like a thousand to 1500 usd and this shirt has a lot of the features and adjustability that those chairs offers so i want to go into the features of the chair now and how i have it set up for me okay
– Chair Features
guys so here’s a full frame view of the chair you can see that it swivels easily without any issues rolling the chair around no issues either doesn’t get stuck or anything like that the wheels are a hard plastic type of material so it’s not rubber wheels so it does make some noise probably should put a mat under it if you’re going to be you know sitting in it for a long time moving it around in terms of the build quality of the chair it’s it’s really heavy um i’m actually very surprised at how how heavy the chair is but it’s it’s quite heavy um it’s a pain to move it around so in terms of the build features you can see it has this um mesh backing for the head rest and um the the back rest so in terms of the headrest you can actually just lift that up or down and you can adjust the tilt of the headrest pretty easily i mean i’ve only been using it for two months so right now it’s very stiff if i lean back it doesn’t move but i’m sure with you know continued use that’s probably gonna change but it looks like you you could just buy a replacement for this if it’s ever needed now the cushion it’s not the softest cushion in the world i’ve sat on softer but i think it actually is pretty good how it is right now because i don’t feel any soreness or any low back pain sitting on this for you know six to ten hours on some days now the arm rests these are pretty easy to use you there’s like a lever here you can just depress those pull it up and the armrests are adjustable so i’ll just put this back down you can slide them up to the sides back in to the back so there’s a lot of adjustability there one thing to note with the armrest is they don’t lock so if you just sit on here and you kind of just glide it around you know you can move it pretty easily so if you use these a lot and you’re expecting them to stay this probably isn’t the right show for you i don’t really use the armrest too much if i do you know it’s very light use so i don’t have an issue with this actually moving around now it also has an adjustable lumbar support here so similar to how you did the headrest you know you can just grab that pull it up push it down now this is quite stiff um it was a lot of effort to push this down to where i want to get it so i’m just not going to adjust it right now because it does take a lot of effort it you know it is quite stiff this is one area i think they can improve on to make it a bit more easy to adjust now if you take a look at the levers on the chair so you have this rotating um kind of knob here and what that does is that adjusts the kind of like the tension i guess of um reclining this back so if you want it to be stiffer when you recline back you would just rotate this one way and then rotate it the other way if you want it loose so when i show you how i have it set up i’ll demonstrate that now with this lever here this is what allows you to adjust the height so if i just pull that up this is the max height just drop it down and that’s pretty simple standard like any other chair okay so the next thing that you can adjust on the chair is you can adjust this actual cushion and how much it extends out or not so to do that you just push down on this other lever and while you’re sitting you can extend it out so this is good if you’re you know someone who’s taller and if you don’t like it like that just push it down shift your weight back and then just lock it in very simple and you know very useful feature okay so the next really handy feature is this knob here so you can see right now if i want to recline back it takes a decent amount of effort i got to put in to get it to recline back now if you actually rotate this and this lets you rotate it in perpetuity pretty much so just keep rotating it and now you can see when i lean back it’s just much easier you may not be able to tell on video but just take my word i’m not putting a lot of effort and it’s just going back and this is how i like to have the chair set up i don’t like it really stiff i just like that at any moment i could just recline back easily so continuing on with the same side of the chair there’s also a lever here that lets you adjust the tilt of the seat cushion you can see right now it’s pretty straight however if i unlock it i can actually shift my weight forward if i’m really into whatever i’m doing on the computer and to lock that you just adjust this until it clicks in and now you can see i’m fully angled down or so i could be more into what i’m doing and i don’t like it this way so to put it back you just unlock this and then click it back into place so on this side of the chair you have one lever here and normally i like to have the chair recline back like that now if you don’t want that and you just want it upright you just click that up and you can see the chair is not going to go anywhere now on the actual back of the chair you have another lever here and this adjusts the the tilt of the backrest so you can see right now it’s kind of locked here if i put this lever down where is it right there you can see i have a little bit extra plate here and then if i put this all the way down then the whole thing is just a really fluid movement i usually leave this a lot so it’s stiff up here and i just can recline like that so just finishing up on the build quality the chair you can see that it has a like a very strong metal support column here and if you take a look at the underside of the chair you can see you know it’s pretty pretty big bolts and just this black uh piece here which pretty much controls all the angles tilts and things like that that’s probably that’s pretty much the bulk of the chair in terms of the weight so it’s a well constructed chair like i said i’ve been using it for two months i haven’t noticed any squeaking or things like that that other reviewers have mentioned so my thoughts on using the chair after
My Chair Experience
roughly two months are you know i think it’s a good chair to buy i think the features and adjustability make it well worth it from looking at some of the reviews i noted i noticed that people were mentioning that the chair squeaks i haven’t noticed that yet again it’s only been two two months however because i am sitting in this chair for you know eight to ten hours a day sometimes more um you know on the computer sometimes watching tv watching movies and things like that i probably am putting more use like more wear into the chair than someone who uses it casually for a longer period of time but again there’s no squeaking um i’m not easy on the chair you know i’ll just fully recline back at any second the chair handles it bounces right back so there’s no loosening or anything like that the chair does come with all the tools to assemble it so there’s no problem there another issue or concern that i see posted online about the chair are the armrests so you can hear this is very hard plastic um there’s like very little very little play let me move up see if i could show you when i uh press it in at least kind of a dent but it’s really not meant for comfort like you know the soft padded ones um however it does have like a little curve here for your arm i haven’t noticed any issues with it but again i don’t use this that much so it’s not a concern for me and when you make the chair if you’re not a fan of a dress sorry arm rest you don’t even have to put it on if you don’t want it so one feature that i think is really great about this chair is the ventilated back um and headrest you know the other chairs i was using either leather or faux leather you know they didn’t have that breathability so when you’re sitting on them you know on a hot day if you don’t have the ac running you know it can get you know kind of humid and it’s just not comfortable with this i haven’t noticed any issues yet even though the cushion isn’t ventilated it’s still more breathable than if it was leather so i also haven’t noticed too many issues you know if it is a really hot day you may notice um it is a bit hot but it’s nowhere close to you know being sat on a leather chair or a faux leather chair all right guys so i hope this video was helpful if it was please consider subscribing and liking the video if i missed anything in the review just leave a question in the comments below and i’ll be happy to answer it one other thing i want to mention is when i ordered the chair i saw on facebook a lot of people were commenting that it was taking you know a month to two months to get the chair and i knew i wanted the chair and but i didn’t want to wait that long but i figured let me just order it anyway because if wait times or a month or two months potentially could go to three months however i was pretty lucky i was able to get it within three weeks and i’m in canada you know you may have a similar experience so don’t be discouraged by the one month or two month delivery times i’m sure yeah some people did have to wait that long but you may get lucky as well and i am 100 happy i just took the chance instead of just driving to ikea or staples and getting one of those shirts that i know would not probably not last as long and it wouldn’t be as comfortable since i’ve been using the chair those lower back problems that i’ve been having it’s completely gone i can sit you know like a full day and i’m really not having any issues so i hope that video was helpful again and if i missed anything just leave a question in the comments below see you in the next video guys take care you
