just got your S26 Ultra and need a premium case. I tested options from Banks, MacBack, Paka, and Taurus. And one of these clearly stands out for versatility. I’ll break them all down so you can pick the right case for you and I’ll let you know my favorite case at the end. I’ll also leave links and coupon codes down below. But let’s get
Design
started starting with design. So, this is really going to come down to personal
Benks Aurora ArmorAir Case
preference. Now, the Banks Aurora Armor Air Case is very lightweight at around 24 g due to the Kevlar fiber build, which is very durable, scratch resistant, and has a textured weave pattern that’s very grippy. It also has strong N52 strength magnets for Macsafe accessories and mounting, and it’s extremely thin at 1.02 mm. The Mag Elite
Magbak Elite Case
case comes in at around 59 1/2 g, and it has a PC and TPU build with silicone grips on the sides for extra grip. There’s thick front and rear protective bezels along with air cushion corners for protection. And there’s also a built-in finger loop that’s quick to use and stows away flush along with a built-in kickstand for vertical and horizontal viewing and a USBC port cover that actually doubles as a pinky finger rest. There’s a large lens cutout so that you can run a lens protector along with protective button covers. And there’s also precise cutouts for SPEN access, the USBC charging port, the speaker grill, and there’s also a cutout to run a lanyard loop. There’s also built-in N52 strength magnets for maxive accessories and maxive charging. The
Pitaka Edge Case
Paka Edge case comes in at around 28 g, so it’s fairly lightweight as well due to the aramid fiber built, which is also durable, scratch resistant, and has a textured weave pattern for better grip. There’s a large lens cutout so you could run lens protectors. And you have easy access to all of the buttons and ports along with SPEN thanks to the large cutouts on the frame. It’s also very slim at 1.2 mm. And there’s three special Aaron buttons that I’ll demo later. It also has strong N52 magnets as
Torras Ostand Q3 Air Case
well. The Taurus Oand Q3 Air case comes in at around 56 g with a mostly PC and TPU build. And it has a nice looking frosted back. It has textured side grips to enhance grip and a large camera lens cutout to run lens protectors. There’s also thick front and rear bezels along with their AirPro Tech airbag corners for drop protection. There’s a 360° rotating kickstand that can be used for vertical or horizontal viewing. and it also stows away flush and houses the strong N52 magnets. There’s button covers and it comes with an extra set to match it to the case. And we also have precise cutouts for the speaker grill, SPEN access, and USBC port. In terms of
Hand Feel
handfield, the Banks Aurora Armor Air Case feels the best thanks to it being very lightweight at 24 g and the very grippy textured Kevlar fiber weave pattern and slim hand feel at around 0.12 mm thin. The Paka Edge case, while not as lightweight as the Banks case and not as thin as the Banks case, is still very slim and lightweight overall and still very grippy thanks to the aromid fiber weave pattern. But the Banks case is the grippiest. The Mag Elite case and Taurus Q3 Air case are pretty similar in terms of grip thanks to the textured side grips. But the Mag Elite case feels a little bit more grippy with the soft touch exterior overall versus the frosted exterior of the Q3 air case. And it’s also a bit more grippy with the silicone side grips.
While both the MagBack Elite and Taurus Q3 Air cases add the most bulk, it’s still very manageable to manipulate and control in one hand, but if you want the slimmest and most lightweight hand feel possible, go with the Banks case.
Protection
All of the cases provide rear camera protection when placed camera or lens side down thanks to the raised rear bezels, but that’s where the similarities end. The Banks and Paka cases offer the least protection due to their extremely thin bills and the large cutouts on the frame along with very minimal front screen bezels and no official drop protection rating. The MagBback Elite case is rated for drops up to 6 ft high thanks to the full-frame protection, the thick front and rear bezels and air cushion corners. The Taurus Q3 Air case is rated for drops up to 13 ft high thanks to the thick front and rear bezels and their air protect corners. Now, I dropped both the MagBback Elite and Taurus Q3 Air cases screen side down and camera side down, and there was absolutely zero damage to
Magsafe Accessories
my phone. All of the cases allowed me to securely hold Maxif accessories thanks to using strong N52 or N52SH magnets. However, the MagBback Elite case had the strongest magnetic hold by far, and I was actually able to use larger Maxive accessories like a power bank since I could actually position it further up or higher up on the case since they actually have a cutout at the bottom of the rear lens cutout, meaning I could actually push it up without the Maxave power bank hitting into that rear lens bezel. On the other cases, the power bank would hit that bottom portion of the rear lens or camera bezel. So, I had to actually angle the power bank off to the side to get it to fit properly. When
Magnetic Mounting
it comes to mounting the S26 Ultra to metallic surfaces, there’s one uncontested winner here. The Banks, Paka, and Taurus cases would slip on metallic surfaces most of the times. Additionally, that was only with me mounting them horizontally. There’s no chance to really mount these vertically because the hold is just not strong enough. However, the Mag Elite case always had an ultra strong hold regardless of if I mounted it horizontally or vertically. and my S26 Ultra wouldn’t fall even with a decent size bump or nudge. So, the ultra strong magnets along with the positioning and amount of magnets in the MacBook Elite case lets me mount the phone in pretty much any direction I like. And I could even partially lift up a 2.5 kg or about 5.5 lb weight plate from my desk.
Additionally, you can create your own metallic mounting surface just using the included Maxic accessory that comes in the box. It has adhesive on the other side. Just paste it to your car’s dash, a wall, a kitchen tile, or a door like I did here, and you could mount it with the same stronghold and mounting versatility. All of the cases exhibited

some degree of wobble on flat surfaces, unfortunately, due to the rear lens bezel sticking up. SPEN use was also

completely unaffected across the entire screen on all of the cases. And you can

use both chi wireless charging and maxafe wireless charging on all of the cases without any issues. NFC or Tap to
NFC
Pay also works flawlessly on all of the

Unique Features!
issues there. Now, let’s look at the unique features of each case. So, the Banks Aurora Armor Air Case has the best grip, hands down, and hand feel since it’s extremely lightweight at 24 g and ultras slim at 1.02 mm. But it does sacrifice on allaround frame protection due to the large cutouts on the frame and it offers zero drop protection. The Paka Edge case also offers great grip in a lightweight and slim case, but it additionally brings their errand button system, which are NFC buttons that you could program with Bixby actions to trigger routines, to launch apps, to launch a flashlight with a quick button press. So, you can really speed up how you use your phone by pressing any of the three Aaron buttons, making it great for power users.
The Taurus Q3 Air case has the highest rated drop protection at around 13 feet thanks to the thick front and rear protective bezels and their AirPro air back corners. The 360° rotating kickstand is a nice touch, but it does leave Maxif accessories prone to lifting up since the kickstand isn’t heavily frictioned into place. The Mag Elite case also has good drop protection at 6 ft with thick front and rear protective vessels and air cushion corners. Plus, it comes with an included edgeless screen protector in the box that’s easy to apply using the box as the actual install kit to further protect your screen with edgetoedge protection. The strength and number of magnets also allow you to magnetically mount your phone with an ultra secure hold that the other cases just can’t match.
There’s a built-in kickstand for vertical or horizontal viewing that stos away flush. And there’s also a built-in finger loop that’s very secure for long scrolling session and that stores away quickly anytime you want to use Macsafe charging or Mac safe accessories. There’s also a USBC port cover that doubles as a pinky finger rest, but you can remove this if you don’t need it. And you can also customize the look of the case with optional color accent
Best S26 Ultra Case?
packs. So, which of these premium cases is best for your S26 Ultra? Well, that’ll really come down to what you value most. If you’re after the slimmest, most ergonomic, and lightweight handfield, the Banks Aurora Armor Case is best, but you do sacrifice drop protection. If you’re a bit of a power user and you want to speed up how you use your phone, the Paka Edge case offers three unique Aaron buttons to trigger any actions, apps, or routines through their NFC buttons while still remaining slim and lightweight. But again, you are sacrificing drop protection. If you want the most drop protection, the Taurus Ostand Q3 air case can’t be beat at around 13 ft of drop protection with their AirPro Tech air back corners and thick bezels all around.
Plus, you have that built-in 360° kickstand for vertical or horizontal viewing. And if you want the most versatile and well-rounded case, the MagBback Elite case has the most features with pretty good drop protection at around 6 ft high thanks to the thick front and rear bezels, air cushioned corners, and an included edgeless screen protector in the box that’s easy to install. You also have the ability to magnetically mount your phone to metallic surfaces, either vertically or horizontally, with a super secure hold that doesn’t budge. And whenever you can’t find a metallic surface, you can easily use the built-in kickstand for horizontal or vertical viewing. Or you could create a metallic mounting area using the included Maxic accessory.
Plus, there’s the built-in finger loop that stows away flush the small cutout on the rear lens bezel that allows you to accommodate larger Maxif accessories again with a super strong hold. So, all of those factors are why the MacBook Elite case is my personal favorite case. And since it’s been on my S26 Ultra, I’ve accidentally dropped my phone onto a brick floor, unfortunately. Now, my S26 Ultra was completely unharmed. And when I took a look at the back of the case, there was a little bit of scuff damage on the right side of the lens bezel. But surprisingly, it’s still standing completely upright, ready to survive another drop. So, I have no concerns about real world drop protection.
