hey guys it’s Adrien and today I have the brand new magb back elite case for the Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra and this case will also be released for the s25 ultra as well the macback elite case offers a ton of functionality so we have industrial strength n52 magnets allowing you to mount this vertically or horizontally on any type of metallic surface and if there’s no metallic surfaces nearby there’s a built-in kickstand that lets you use the phone in horizontal or vertical orientation there’s a built-in finger Loop that lets you stow it away nice and flush anytime you want to use Mac safe charging or Chi wireless charging there’s thick and deep bezels protecting both the camera lens and your screen and air cushion Corners to protect your phone for drops of up to 12 ft a microfiber inl lining helps prence scratches through your phone there’s a USBC port cover which doubles as a pinky rest or pinky pillow you can also customize the case with different color elements and you also can use your s Spen and NFC payments without any issues but how well does the macback El actually perform and is it worth the upgrade over the macback classic well let’s take a closer look at how well it performs and a big thanks to macback for sending this out for review I have the
Package Contents
package for the brand new macback elite case for the Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra and right next to it I have my s24 ultra in their macback classic case which I’ve been using for the past 5 or 6 months I’m a huge fan of this case so I’m really curious to see what the elite case brings but let’s take a closer look just going to remove this protective piece here and it is a really nice you know hard cover type of packaging and here we have the brand new macback elite case and my first impressions are that the macback elite case feels way more grippy in the hand perhaps a little bit lighter and you can see there’s way more going on in terms of the case design compared to the more minimal design on the macback classic macback also sent me some additional silicone pieces here that I could use to kind of you know personalize the case I could replace these silicone grips on the side here and the finger loop at the back and that’s going to nicely match the titanium blue on my s24 ultra so that’s a really nice touch so whenever you order this case you can also order you know your own colored accent pieces as
Case Design
well let’s do a quick weight check so the brand new macback elite case is coming in at around 64 G and the macback classic is coming in at 76 G so about a 12 G difference which is pretty amazing that this is more lightweight considering it’s packing more features in the case let’s take a quick look at the case before I installed the s24 ultra so right away we have this finger Loop let’s just do a side view and then you can just slide your finger in here hold the case like that and then you could slide it right back down so this is not going to really impact any type of magnetic charging since it sits you know kind of flush and you can see as I press down here you know it goes right into place so no issues there at the very bottom is where we have the kickstand so I’ll just pull that out and then we have those kind of hard stops so this could be viewed either horizontally or vertically as well just pop that back in there and you can see that there is you know kind of a magnetic little uh closure here to keep this nicely situated we have the camera cutouts you know same as you would expect and then we do have the silicone grips on the side which is a new addition with the elite case and we also have the buttons and again all of this is replaceable with these type of color accents now all of the ports remain unobstructed but what’s brand menu is this little um USB type-c charging port cover right here you can see that goes right back into place if you constantly charge your phone up with the USB type-c port and you find the USB port cover to be a bit of a hindrance you can actually remove it from the case completely and they kind of call this like a pinky pillow because when you’re holding the phone your pinky can rest and it’s you know a nice soft touch type of feel now taking a closer look on the inside now so we have this microfiber type of lining to really protect your phone and you know minimize any type of scratches and things like that and if I take a look at the macback classic case there is no microfiber lining in here like with the elite case but I also don’t have any damage on my s24 ultra anyway so you know this is a really nice bonus addition the elite case has airush and Corners we have a nice soft touch type of feel to the case and like I mentioned we have these grippy silicone areas which are not present on the Mac back classic case we also have the same n52 industrial strength of magnets in here so you you can adhere or you know kind of attach this anywhere magnetically and if you like to attach lanyards or Charm stereophone we also have a slot ha for
Installation
that but let’s install the s24 ultra and see what everything looks like so I’ll just start at the top here and everything is already installed you can see that’s a very quick installation process and to remove it you’ll just peel back at the top here and then pop your phone out so very simple and straightforward but in terms of hand feel with the s24 ult RA in the case I could definitely feel right away it is lighter than when I’m using the classic case and I could see just looking at a top down view here you could see the case kind of tapers down just like so and then if I do the same type of top view on the classic case you could see it’s a way more um boxier type of feel it’s just not as tapered or curved as much as on the elite case and what that means for handfield is that it feels you know way more natural with this type of curvature going on so um that’s an immediate plus and something I noticed right away in terms of the elite case same with these silicone accent grips you know that is really helping me maintain a better grip on the case whereas with the elite case um it’s just kind of a unibody type of design all the way through so you don’t have those silicone accents but yeah the hand feel feels fantastic on here and all of the ports remain completely unobstructed same as with the macback classic a so you have full access to the S Pen the speaker Grill and then the USB type-c port and if I just peel back that protective covering you could see easy access and they even have this kind of you know projection right here that sits you know nice and flush inside the actual USBC Port so yeah this is a very wellth out in design case there’s also a slightly dipped or recessed area so you can easily grab access to your Spen effortlessly I have very oily fingerprints you can see the glass is pretty clean but if I just run my finger there I’ve already left a streak now if I do that on the macback elite case it’s fairly resistant to smudges I’m really not seeing much going on there however with the classic case if I run my finger along you can see that streak um immediately right there so yeah this is also more smudge and oil resistant and the top speaker Grill also remains completely unobstructed and the buttons remain very tactile and
Protection
responsive the camera bezels are also very deep you could see just how much those camera lenses are recessed or receded in so you’re not going to have any type of problems with protection anytime you place the phone face down on a flat surface and this is basically the same level of bezel protection that I had on the the macback classic case looking at the bezels on the front of the phone to protect the screen so you can see the top lip sticks out nicely there so if you place this face down on a table the screen is going to be completely protected and that’s the same for the bottom bezel as well so full protection there now one change I have noticed on the elite case is that if I do a side view so the bezel running along the side here it’s not as extended out on the elite case as it is on the macback classic case now one reason for that I believe is that because if you were to use those kind of side swipe panels where you could just swipe out from the right side or the left side because it’s not as high on the side here you know that’s going to make that process a little bit easier another thing I noticed is that the bezels on the top and at the bottom they taper inwards so there’s a slight angle inwards towards the screen and again that’s so that if you’re kind of paying with your credit card or using Samsung pay or whatever you can easily just slide down it’s not just you know a square bezel all the way through so it’s a very well thought out case design and for reference this is what the bezels look like on the macback classic Cas so you can see they’re very beefy on the front on the sides of the phone and at the very bottom basically it’s beefy bezels all the way through but like I mentioned the top and bottom bezels on the elite case are plenty enough to protect the screen anytime you place the phone face down that combination of bezel thickness for the screen and the camera modules plus the air cushion Corners make make this rated for drops of up to 12 ft high and if you’re
Wobble Test
wondering about wobble when you put the case down on a table you can see it’s very well managed so very minimal wobble at all and if I was to use my Spen to kind of draw or you know kind of scribble around you could see I’m not having any type of issues with that and if I do the same wobble test on the macback classic case you can see there’s really no wobble at all so if you want a wobble free experience even though it’s very slight on the elite then the macback classic is still better in this
S PEN
aspect and like I said there is zero issues using the S Pen even with those really strong industrial strength
NFC
magnets and if you use NFC frequently to make payments it is not affected in any way using the elite case same as with the Mac Pack classic case let’s take a
Kickstand
look at the kickstand so I’ll just pop it out and I could just go ahead and use that for vertical viewing and if I tap on the screen you can see there’s a little bit of wobble but it’s not enough to you know make this loose balance or push it off and then if I go ahead and use this in landscape mode so since the kickstand is only on one side you can see I’m still tapping on the screen here I can still go ahead pause resume play back and you know it’s still actually fairly fairly secure look at that that’s actually pretty good adding this built-in kickstand on the elite case may be already enough reason to upgrade to the elite case because even though I love magnetically mounting my macback classic case everywhere I can there are times where there’s no metallic surfaces so having this you know built-in kick stand as a second secondary mounting method just adds way more versatility
Fingerloop
all right let’s take a look at the finger Loop so I’ll just slide my index finger right there and you can see I can easily just shake that up and down here’s what a side view looks like and yeah that’s you know really secure and snug in there and then once I’m done I can just easily slide that right back down and then just pop this onto a wireless charger either in my car or on my desk and I’m good to go and just a
Accessories
demo how strong the magnetic connection still is even with the integrated finger loop I have my macback wallet I can just put it right on there slip my finger through shake the phone vigorously up and down you can see that’s really not going anywhere then I can just pop this off basically effortlessly just this type of modularity with magb cases and their accessories is topnotch the macback elite case can also be used with their Mac stick accessor same as with the macback classic case so you can see
Magnetic Strength!
that those n52 industrial strength magnets are no joke it really lets you to mount this phone magnetically to any type of metallic surface vertically horizontally at any angle I can basically mount my phone anywhere on something as small as a small metal clip holding up my bathroom mirror on my fridge I can mount it on my stove’s fan unit while I’m cooking to follow along with the recipe the possibilities are
Color Accents
really endless let’s take a look at what the case looks like once I replaced the black silone pieces with these colored pieces so for the finger Loop you could see if you just lift this part up it’s just held in place right here so you can just easily slide that out of the way I’ll just peel off the rest of these I’ve popped off the silicone accents on the right and left along with the buttons the only thing that’s left is this pinky pillow because I don’t have the color for that right now but that is coming later and you know I can actually see some of you running this case just like this without some of those silicone accent pieces it actually looks pretty cool this way as well and this is what the macback elite case looks like once once you pop out the default black silicone grips and you add in you know these type of color accented pieces so it really gives the case you know a nice pop of color so if
MagBak Elite or Classic?
you’re trying to decide between the macback classic or the macback elite case I would say the macback elite has more going for it you have the integrated finger Loop you have the built-in kickstand it’s easier to hold thanks to the tapered sides and Corners along with the silicone grips and it’s also 12 G lighter but if you don’t mind the extra 12 G and you like a bit of he to your phone cases along with a more minimalistic type of design than the macback classic is still a fantastic case and I could pick any of these cases to go with my phone and still be happy because I get the same type of modularity with macback accessories so
