– Intro
hey it’s adrian and today i’m reviewing the pixel g1s rgb light so i looked at a couple other lights like reviews and stuff online but this seemed like a really good price for the features that it comes with so you can see from the unit here um it’s like pretty much all metal construction and it’s it’s like a really heavy unit it’s feels solid like there’s no squeaking shaking or anything like that so you have the power button up here there you go and on the sides see if i can show that you have these uh rotating knobs here to adjust and they also have um clickable buttons right here and on the bottom of the unit you can see on the charging charging port there it’s just a standard usb type c so that’s great if you have a lot of those cables lying around let me try to catch full consider and then this part here it actually swings out so if you wanted to um just stand it up instead of just leaving it you know standing like that you can use this and then put it down um just to have it like a bit more a bit more stable like that and you can see here when you swing it out you have a you have all these quarter inch thread sizes here so that makes it really handy and in terms of what it comes with you get this cold shoe adapter here so you have the quarter inch up here and if you unscrew this top part then you have the 1 8 inch it also comes with the charging cable type c and you also have this little um ball head here so again you could just screw in the um the light to the top here and then you have quarter inch here or your quarter inch to um 1 8 inch and then you can just uh rotate that however you want okay it also comes with the manual which is actually probably worth it to read through normally you don’t need to read through manuals but there are a lot of features on it so that may make it easier and you also have a carrying pouch okay so in terms of the features of the light it’s gonna be hard to show you like the true um power output so later on in the video i’ve like cut all the lights and i just have the um the lights going so you can see kind of how much it illuminates the area in terms of the features i’ll just go through that quickly so you can just um once you turn the unit on it has like a little led area at
Features
the back here so you could see the settings so i can’t show you the settings while i’m doing it because i’m not going to know what i’m doing but basically in the first mode here you have um the option to change your color temperature so right now it’s set to 85k let me just lower that and you can go all the way down to 25k um so you have a lot of adjustability there and pretty much in every in all of these modes this top um this top dial here which is the dimmer dial you can change um the strength of the light so i’ll just keep that around maybe 75 so that’s the first mode i’m just switching from you know uh the calvins okay the next mode you go to is where you can change the hue and saturation and very handy they’ve put at the back here a um a guide here so you could see whatever number range you want to get to so if i just rotate this you can see i’m changing the the hue right now going through all the colors and then if i click that again i can change the saturation level of that specific color i’m just going to leave it on 100 now the other mode that you have it’s um kind of like if you want to simulate different environments so this mode here you could see it’s kind of glowing um yellow kind of so i guess this would simulate being in front of a fireplace and if you rotate this function down here it goes through so you can see it’s on a right now if i rotate that it’s going to be and now it’s kind of like a blue light that’s flickering so this would simulate sitting in front of a tv and you have another just on a gradual glow now if i switch that mode you also have this just very basic color fade and again if you rotate the function it changes the way the colors fade and the speed the next mode is like a ambulance or police siren and again if you change the function button you can see it changes the colors and how that works and the last mode i believe is i guess this is like a lightning mode so that’s function a if i rotate it you can see the frequency at which it um flashes changes and then we’re back to just like a white soft glow then there’s more here and i’m just going to put it back to the regular um the regular color temperatures mode so you can see there’s a lot of features on you have a lot of options on here so the next thing i’m going to show you is i’m going to cut the lights and then i’m going to turn this on and you’re going to see how much it illuminates the area i’m also going to cut these back lights and just put it against the wall to show you for my purposes you can see i have one over there like i have two of these lights so that’s doing a okay enough job illuminating the background and there are other lights you can buy that’s gonna illuminate it way more um i don’t think this is a like a super powerful light but it’s adequate for just you know having like a little ambient glow in the back so let me just do a quick demonstration of what that looks like so i’ve cut all the lights and i’m just
Brightness Output
using the light um up against this wall and shelf here just so you can get an idea of how much it’s illuminating so i just have the one light here and you can see this is um right up close to the wall so of course it’s you know really really bright and then as i back it away you can see it does a pretty good job of um illuminating the area so you decide you know if this is going to be worth it for you definitely there’s a bit more expensive like this uh has way way better outputs but um i think this actually does a pretty good job for the price that it is

Tech Specs
okay so now that you’ve seen those um color modes and how bright the illumination is if you’re interested i want i just want to go through a couple of the specs i know this is kind of dry but it may be helpful to you if you’re interested so on the back of the box there’s a bunch of specs here so one thing i do find is that the battery life is um it goes pretty quickly for me usually when i’m doing these videos like i just have it running the whole time and it drains quickly so i just leave it plugged in because um it usually doesn’t last me like you know two or you know half a day let’s say of um shooting videos so i always have it just plugged in now it does say it’s a 3200 mah battery which you would think would have a decent life but i guess because i’m like i have it max at 100 when i’m running i have to pretty much have it uh plugged in all the time so even with it plugged in all the time it doesn’t get too hot actually like it does get warm but i notice it’s never super hot where it’s uncomfortable to touch and in terms of the build um the material it says it’s um aviation grade aluminum and like i’m telling you for the price that this is um i think i paid maybe like under 100 canadian like it’s it’s got weight like it’s got a heft to it like you wouldn’t want this to fall on something so the weight listed here is 450 grams so just keep that in mind if you’re gonna have it mounted to like um a small mini tripod or something uh it is a pretty heavy unit and the temperature like i mentioned it’s from 20 2500 to 8500 and you do have um like a whole bunch of mounts here so you can pretty much orient this a lot of different ways and just you know hang it off like a c-stand or a tripod or whatever you want okay so i hope this
My Thoughts
review is helpful and i hope those lighting demonstrations i did give you an idea of the output you can expect if i missed anything let me know if there’s anything you want me to test differently or just show you an example of let me know as well and if this was helpful please consider liking and subscribing i’m always doing these type of videos so if you’re interested in that type of stuff definitely um give a follow and going back to the unit um like i said you know this is a great option for ambient lighting like i have down there i’ve been using that one for about three months three or four months and it’s working really well like i’ve had no op no problems with it sorry the only thing i have to do is pretty much keep it plugged in all the time because if i’m here for you know like say half a day um you know it doesn’t run out of battery quickly so just just keep in mind like it’s better to have it plugged in um if possible and in addition to using it for ambient lighting um when i do b-roll shots i’ve also been using it for that so if you’re into product photography or you know doing b-roll you know you can just add it as a nice little accent like just put it in that hue saturation mode and then you can change it you know um whatever color just to give that bit of uh that bit of creativity in the shot so it’s a it’s really a great light for that you know tons of features and super super simple to use so can highly recommend it okay guys so i’ll see you in the next video take care
