hey it’s Adrian and today I have what I consider to be one of the top three earbuds I reviewed in 2024 these are the Ros salsa earf free I5 earbuds now Ros salsa is not a brand I’ve heard of before but after giving these a listen I was just amazed by the sound coming out of this the sound is energetic Rich vibrant and the base is deep hitting like you can feel when this base hits and that’s stks that are 10 mm hr2 topologic diaphragm drivers on top of Great Sound we have hybrid ANC up to 40 8 DB we have ldac high-risk codex and ipx vibrating Bluetooth 5.3 54 milliseconds of latency in gaming mode there’s multi-point support and up to 50 hours of play time with the included charging case now while the sound is Stellar on these everything is not perfect now is that going to be a deal breaker well that’s up to you to decide so let’s take a closer look at the rosela efree I5 earbuds and a big thanks to rosela for sending these out for

free I5 earbuds look really beautiful in this Tron blue but it also comes in a black gray and champagne color as well the charging case feels cool to the touch and that’s because it has a premium Aerospace grade aluminum alloy body and we have a matte type of finish which is really good at resisting smudges and fingerprints now on the very top of it it does say ear free international and then we do have the rose salsa logo on the front there along with an LED indicator light which you could see coming on right there on the very bottom we have the USB type-c charging port to keep this topped up and then we have a button to help with pairing as well and there’s nothing on the rear the charging case comes in at 58 G which is very manageable considering the premium metallic alloy build now each of the earbuds comes in at around 4 to 5 G each and in terms of removing them from the case well that’s very easy you can see very easy to take them out and put them back in the magnets are also strong enough so that if you put the earbuds upside down and shake them they still stay nice and firmly in place the earbuds look really beautiful now they call this a Tron blue but in person when I’m looking at it I would describe it kind of as you know a bluish gray type of pastel just a really muted type of look which actually looks really nice and pleasing to the eye it’s not a super vibrant color and it’s not boring as well and you know once I rotate it like that you can see all the different Contours on here it’s just a beautiful looking pair of earbuds all the way around touch controls are located just above this darker shaded area so if I tap up here you’ll see the volume increase or decrease so you’re actually not tapping on this shaded area right here you’re tapping right above it now if we take a look on the underside here so it shows left and right and then we have have the speaker grills here and now these come with the medium ear tips and we also have small and large and at the very bottom we have the metal charging contacts along with a variety of different microphones on here here’s

a quick look at the specs feel free to pause or jump ahead to the next section

Pairing

Pairing — Watch this section

I’m going to pair the ear free iives for the first time so I’ll hit scan press and hold the pairing button at the bottom here to put it into pairing mode so I can see the flashing lights there and I’ll just wait for it to pop up at the bottom right here Rose earf free I5 go ahead and hit pair and I could see that they’re connected for calls and audio and if I go into the settings here there’s also a toggle to turn on ldac which is what you’re going to want to do for the best quality sound I’ll now pair the airfree i5s with my Samsung zold 6 so I’ll hit scan press and hold the pairing button again on the earbuds and I’ll wait for it to pop up here so Rose airfree I5 hit pair so you can see the airfree i5s are connected to both my zold 6 and s24 Ultra simultaneously using multipoint

Multipoint

Screenshot — Multipoint
Multipoint — Watch this section

connectivity here’s a quick demo of multipoints I’ll play music on the first phone and I can pause that and play on the second phone and you can hear that the audio just moves right over now if I played on the first phone and I start pressing play on the second phone it’s still going to prioritize the first phone I would have to pause this for the music to kick over on the second phone so just keep that in mind it won’t just you know cut over

Roselink App

Roselink App — Watch this section

automatically let’s take a look at the Rose link app settings and once you open it up you can see the remaining battery life on the charging case but there’s something interesting here if I take out one earbud I’ll see the battery life on the right earbud and the charging case but once both earbuds are out you no longer see the battery life on the charging case you only see it on the earbud so it’s kind of one or the other moving on under noise control we have noise cancellation wind mode normal mode and transparency mode under super master equalizer we have four presets so pop high-fi rock and light but there is no option to set a custom EQ that I found which is a little bit strange now under the Codex we have AAC and S SPC if your phone supports ldac you’re going to want to put it on that but you won’t be able to use the Dual device connection or multi-point just something to be mindful of now you can also toggle this game mode and you’re going to get up to 54 milliseconds of latency which is amazing that’s thanks to their llr or lightning latency reduction but I’ll just turn that off for now and then under custom EQ settings so you can set them independently right or left earbud so you can do a single click on the left one your you know lower volume and then you could do a double tap these are the options again we can do a triple click and then a long press and of course you could just set no function if you want to completely disable all touch controls and just use your device to control the earbuds under lap features you can just toggle this touch switch option so instead of just setting no function to each of the earbud Taps you could just disable this instead you also have the option to enable inear detection which is really handy and then you can SHO choose the different cycle lists but if you know for example you’ll never use wind noise or transparency you could just cycle through whichever modes you need under language preference you could set it to Chinese or English you can also update the firmware when necessary in UND Square you could jump into this white noise section and cycle through different type of listening environments

Touch Controls

Screenshot — Touch Controls
Touch Controls — Watch this section

touch controls are really simple to use on the earf free I5 so the touch area is just above this dark or shaded area so I’ve programmed it so a single tap will increase the volume and a single tap will decrease the volume of course you can set it to do nothing if you prefer a double tap will pause or resume playback regardless of the earbud and I’ve set a triple tap to jump to the next track and then a triple tap to go back to the previous track now you can also set a long press to pull up the voice assistant which it should do right there and I’ve just not set that up on this phone um and if I do a long press on on this one it’s going to cycle through the various modes you know noise cancellation wind reduction normal mode and transparency all right let’s talk

Sound

sound and we have 10 mm hr2 topologic diaphragm drivers powering this and these claim to offer really low Distortion sound and yeah I believe that claim I didn’t have any issues with Distortion at all at least not to my ears now when I listen to these I did turn lck on so I did have to turn multi-point connectivity off and these get super loud now with a lot of other earbuds I sometimes find myself going to you know 90% sometimes even 100% but with these I only needed to keep it at around 60 to 70% that was plenty loud for me and I also attribute that to the good fitment on here there’s four equalizer presets on here and I mostly switch between the Hi-Fi and the pop equalizer the Hi-Fi is I would say maybe a little bit more balanced but the pop has a little bit more Vibrance and energy to the tuning which is what I prefer now unfortunately there is no option for cust some equalizer tuning on here I did ask rosela about that and they said there’s no plans to add that you know anytime in the near future but the sound coming out of these just in the pop equalizer or high-i equalizer was plenty enough to satisfy me and I didn’t really feel like I was losing out on much one of the first things I noticed is the Bas performance and delivery on these so the base is pretty Bold full sounding on there and you get good dump it’s not just you know kind of there medium there it’s fully there in your air drum you will feel that dump and there’s good subbase extension as well and while I love earbuds are tuned to the more base heavy side of things for some listeners they may find the base Decay a smidge too much again it’s nothing that’s going to break the listening experience but if you really value you know kind of Clean Super balanced sound that’s the one area where I feel you know it may be pushed a bit too much but if you love Bas you’re definitely not going to be let down mids and Highs are crisp with great clarity and there’s no excessive sibilance vocals just feel nice and without any type of muddiness I listened to a variety of different music across all genres and I wasn’t let down in any area with these earbuds these are tuned just so nicely at least for me vocals came through nice and clear there’s an expansive Sound Stage on here and when you listen to more Basse heavy songs you get that nice hard-hitting Basse thumb if you get the earf free iives I want you to have the best possible listening experience so you can experience exactly what I did and to do that you’re going to need to use this with ldac turned on now if you’re on an iPhone or an older Android phone that doesn’t support ldac you’re going to be limited to AAC or SBC and it’s not going to you know kind of operate at its full potential so something to be mindful of so what I

Transparency Mode

Screenshot — Transparency Mode
Transparency Mode — Watch this section

noticed with the transparency mode is if I’m listening at about 40% volume or lower um the transparency mode does its job I can kind of hear what’s going on but if I have the volume at 50% or higher it becomes way harder to tell what’s going on outside so I would say you know if you have a really good seal in fitment with these and you want to have um a conversation hear what’s going on you’ll likely have to drop the volume to you know 40% or lower to really have the transparency mode be effective uh

ANC Mode

Screenshot — ANC Mode
ANC Mode — Watch this section

even at you know lower volumes I would say around 40 30 to 40% I can still you know kind of hear what’s going on in the background and it’s not even you know the higher frequency noises so it’s definitely not the best that I’ve heard so if you’re looking for you know really great ANC performance that’s going to let you just drwn out a lot of background noise these are not the earbuds for you the Ros salsa website does sell optional memory foam ear tips which they say offers an additional 5db towards the active noise cancellation now I don’t have those to test it out but you know if ANC really matters you do want to get these that’s an option to

Mic

Screenshot — Mic
Mic — Watch this section

consider here’s a demo of what microphone audio sounds like coming from the rosela earf free I5 wireless earbuds with AMC I’m in a very quiet room with little to no background noise here’s an example of what microphone audio sounds like from the Ros salsa ear free I5 earbuds I’m playing simulated background noise at around 70% it’s quite loud and this is how well the microphone audio pick up is so this quad mic setup and their AI neural network noise reduction algorithm is doing a pretty good job of isolating my voice anytime there’s

In-Ear Detection

Screenshot — In-Ear Detection
In-Ear Detection — Watch this section

background noise here’s a demo of inear detection so right now I have music playing I’ll take the earb out music is going to automatically pause put it back in and music is going to resume playback so that’s all very quick and fluid however everything isn’t perfect because I noticed that sometimes it would automatically pause music even though the earbuds were always in my ear I never touched them or came close to even removing them so the inear detection is an experimental feature or beta features under the labs section of the app so it’s something that still needs a bit more refinement than tuning and something that can probably be fixed with firmware because you can update the firmware through the app now this is not that big of a deal for me because it’s you know a good bonus feature for me to have inner detection I’ve just disabled it completely and that issue completely went away but if you need you know Flawless inner detection these may not be the earbuds for you at least not right now without a fmer update in terms

Fit & Comfort

Fit & Comfort — Watch this section

of fitment so these are super secure and snug in my ear and they’re probably one of the most secure and you know best fitting earbuds that I’ve used but if I talk about Comfort now I definitely notice these in my ear after about 2 hours of wear if you have you know kind of smaller ear canals these may not be the best type of earbuds for you but conversely if you find a lot of earbuds you know kind of uh fall out they get loose they’re not super snug because you have larger ear canals these will probably be right up your

alley with game mode enabled at 54 milliseconds of latency using their llr or lightning latency reduction I had no problem just dominating in Call of Duty

Battery Life

Screenshot — Battery Life
Battery Life — Watch this section

mobile battery life is rated for up to 10 hours on a single charge but that’s really going to depend on a bunch of factors like if you’re using ldac or not if you’re using the normal listening mode if you have ANC on volume level there’s really a ton of different factors and once you add in the charging case it bumps it up to about 50 hours of play time now whenever the charging case does Get Low a quick 10minute charge of the charging case is going to give you an additional 12 hours of you know charging time for the earbuds I had between 4 to 4 and 1/2 hours of battery life and that’s with ldac on at all times with the volume at around 50 % all

right so can I recommend the rosela efree I5 earbuds and yeah these are easily in the top three earbuds that I’ve reviewed in 2024 and that was a real surprise to me because this is a brand Ros Elsa I’ve never heard of them before and when I checked it online they used to go by Rose Technics again another name that I wasn’t familiar with but the sound coming out of these is easily in the you know top three top five of earb I reviewed and I can’t wait to try out more products from this company because this has really blown me away for the price that these cost and while it’s good to have things like Google Fast Fair wireless charging inor detection and all these other nice features it’s actually not something that I really look for I look for sound quality first and foremost I would say you know 80 to 90% of the weight I just put it on sound the rest are bonuses for me and these definitely deliver on sound I’ve enjoyed every second I’ve had these in my ear so if you’re interested in picking up the ear free op I’m going to leave links down below for you to learn more or to pick one up for yourself if you found this video helpful please consider liking and subscribing it truly does help me out as a growing Channel and I appreciate every one of you who watches my videos and don’t forget to check out some of my other tech reviews I review a bunch of different Tech on here I’m sure you’ll find something you like whether it’s cell phones computers accessories I have something for everyone and I hope to see you in the next one soon
