Intro

hey guys it’s Adrien and today I’m taking a look at edif Fire’s kosc open air true Wireless airbuds the comos C’s are packed with 12 mm titanium coated Dynamic drivers there’s a low latency gaming mode up to 7 hours of battery life or 28 hours if you include the charging case there’s fast charging AI noise cancellation microphone technology Bluetooth 5.4 with multi-point connectivity a wide touch control area automatic wearing detection or inair detection and ip56 dust and water resistance assistant rating app control smart audio Channel detection for interchangeable wear between your right and left ear so that’s a really impressive feature set but let’s get into how well it fits how good they sound and a big thanks to edifier for sending these out for review in the box
Package Contents

we have the charging case for the edifier combo C we have the edifier combo C open air airbuds USB type A to type-c charging cable safety information
Design

and manual so the edifier comfo C’s are very lightweight coming in at around 6 G each and if you add the charging case then it’s around 54 G with everything I have the Black Version but it also comes in a bunch of other really nice colors and looking at the case first so we have the edifier logo at the top we have a little Notch here to help open it up easily and an LED indicator light as well on the very back this is where we have the USB type-c port to charge the case up and we also have the pairing button now one thing I wanted to mention is this is a very uh you know kind of rounded uh oval looking type of case and it has a matte finish which is you know pretty good at resisting fingerprints but one thing I noticed is that anytime I set this down you can see it has a tendency to just kind of wobble or rotate so it would have been a little bit better if this was a more flatter surface but you know very minor complaint taking a look at the kfo C open ear airbuds themselves so you can see if I do a side profile here this is what it looks like so the side with the driver and these do have 12 mm driver drivers is a little bit smaller than on the back side here that has the metal charging contact so if we take a closer look at the driver’s side so we have the edifier logo and note that very glossy and reflective finish and then we have the speaker grill right here again that’s with the 12 mm Dynamic driver now if we take a look at the other side this is where we have the metal charging contacts that are going to sit in the case and then we have basically a you know fully kind of glossy black finish all the way through and then we also have some microphones along here with AI active noise cancellation to just kind of cancel out environmental noises while the opposite ends here are kind of made of a hard plastic this middle portion here with the memory wire is made of skin-friendly silicone material which makes this very comfortable to wear now this does have an ip56 rating which means it can withstand dust rain and sweat taking the comfo se’s in and out of the cases really easy since you have this large area to just kind of grasp and put back in and you can see how simple that is and now if I put it upside down and Shake it’s not going anywhere there’s basically no rattle it’s nicely and securely in there now one interesting thing to note is if I say take out this one and this is the one on the left side here I can just go ahead rotate it and put it in the right side and same with the other on so you can actually put these in interchangeably and what that means is when you wear them whichever are you put them on it will automatically kind of switch to the right and left channel so you don’t have to worry about that
Specs

here’s a quick look at the specs feel free to pause or jump ahead to the next section all right let’s pair the edifier
Bluetooth Pairing

comfo C for the first time so I’ll open it up I can see the flashing light showing it’s in pairing mode hit scan and I’ll just wait for it to pop up at the bottom here so edifier com FOC hit pair there we go and I can see it’s connected with 100% battery life I’m now going to
Multipoint Pairing & Demo

connect the comos C to my zold 6 so I’ll go ahead and press the pairing button at the back till the LEDs start flashing there we go and I’ll hit scan on my zold 6 and I’ll wait right here so comeo C hit pair and I can see that it’s now paired on my zold 6 and my s24 ultra simultaneously using multipoint and here’s a demo of multipoint so I’ll start playing on my first phone I can pause that and you can hear that the audio kicks over fairly quickly from my first phone to my second phone now one thing to note is that if you start playing audio on one phone and then you start playing it on the second phone it won’t kick over automatically you will have to pause it so let me show you what I mean so I’ll start playing here [Music] so you can see that even though I started playing audio on my second phone it still retained the audio Source from the first phone giving that party so you do have to pause on the first device to have it kick over on the second device
App Settings

let’s take a look at the settings in the edifier connects app so once you open it up I could see the battery light for the right and left earbud along with the battery life on the case and then if we go into sound effects you can search between classic base boost vocal and travel boost in terms of the equalizers but there is no option to set a custom EQ and then you can also go and turn game mode on or off depending if you want to do a bit of casual gaming in the full settings this is where we can take a look at the user manual there is also a video that shows you how to wear the earbuds which is really handy now we also have a drainage feature and and this is just to kind of dislodge dust or any type of water that would accumulate in there so that’s really cool to have and then under control settings this is where you can remap now the remapping is a little bit limited it starts with a double press so you could see a double press on the right or left is going to do a play pause and then if we go into a triple press it’s going to go to previous track on the left and then it’s going to go to uh next track on the right now there is no option for long pressing and there’s no option for a single tap that’s always something I like to see I don’t know why edifier you know just doesn’t have that and then give you the option to disable it so for right now you’re limited to double press or triple press and these are the available options so game mode voice assistance Volume Up Down Etc or you can set it to none if you just want to use your devices controls instead of the earbuds controls under tap sensitivity you can switch it from a sensitivity level of zero all the way up to 15 and you can enable this Sports tapping sensitivity as well under wearing the text chain you can have the earbuds automatically pause music when you remove the earbuds and resume music playback when you put them back in or you can disable this feature completely or use the third option here now under um find my product this is where you can hit search and it’s going to emit a tone to help you locate the earbuds and then we can also go into prompt tones and this is where you could set the prompt volume so it could be from zero all the way up to the Max and you can also enable a prompt every time you tap to make a settings change I don’t like that so I disable it and then you could turn the earbuds off or you could go into the Bluetooth settings and reset everything
Sound

all right let’s talk about sound quality and the fact that these are open ear style earbuds where they’re not sitting you know directly in your a canal or semi inair means it’s not going to deliver you know the same type of audio experience as inair headphones would so just keep that in mind you are making some trade-offs for the comfort and convenience that these bring so these have 12 mm titanium coated Dynamic drivers and if you crank these to 100% they get really loud like to the point where you shouldn’t have it at 100 so for the most part I just listened at 50 to 60% and that was plenty loud for me and generally I do like to listen fairly loud so I’m happy with that now in terms of the equalizers I mostly use the base boost equalizer that kind of just you know rounded out the sound made it a bit more full body compared to the um I believe they have that classic one there’s also a vocal and a treble uh boost equalizer but the base boost is where I listen to most of the time now these do have this acoustic directional technology but for the most part I just try to angle the speaker Grill so you know it’s firing directly into my Air Canal so yeah fitment is really going to matter here because you know the closer you can get these to your air Canal the more of that you know base hit base thump you can hear so I would rate the base delivery on here as a little above average cons considering these are open a earbuds and you know when you wear inner earbuds and it’s you know nicely and tightly sealed um the base Just Hits and thumbs harder and you’re not going to get that with these you’ll feel the base hit a little bit but it’s not going to be nearly as you know satisfying if you’re a base set and it doesn’t have you know like an a prolonged type of Base Trail off or base Decay like that sustained base resonance if that’s something that you usually like like I do but at the same time you know you are making a trade-off you’re wearing open ear buts you know for the convenience factor or situational awareness so you know that’s one of the trade-offs you know I could immediately tell with the base in terms of the mids and highs I would say they’re about on par for open ear earbuds but you know I’ve definitely heard um better because I did cycle through the different equalizers you know the vocal boost the treble boost and you know for the most part I found that the frequencies weren’t pushed you know as much as I would like because it sounded you know like a little bit Hollow kind of like lacking um you know liveliness to the music it wasn’t that it was muddy sounding but it was definitely missing you know a little bit of energy in there and then I also notice in some songs like even if I was listening to like say medium High um volume I did notice a little bit of uh sibilance on there and you know the lack of an equalizer where I can’t really find tune to what sounds great to my ears you know made it not as enjoyable to listen to um when it came to a lot of vocal prominent songs so overall I’d rate the listening experience as above average on these because by comparison some of the other open air earbuds I’ve listened to they sound really bad like the sound is tinny it’s Hollow it’s just not any energy TI it’s just a very Bland listening experience this isn’t the case with these and you know once I calibrate and think okay yeah these are not in your earbuds they’re open ear it’s great for what they are now I use these when I row I listen to podcast on these these come in clutch because you know I can just have them on my ear kind of the full day um and they work really great for that so if you’re looking for open your earbuds that you know have better than average sound these will
Sound Leakage?

deliver so in terms of sound leakage it’s really going to depend on the environment you’re in so you can see this is a dead quiet room um I held the microphone I would say maybe like 8 to 10 in away from me and in reality no one is going to be kind of that close to youread really um and if they are maybe it’s a lineup and it’s a very busy in crowded area like say a train station a bus stop you know maybe a coffee shop where you’re waiting in line to order and in that case there’s going to be a lot of ambient noise so you know I don’t think the sound leakage is going to be
Mic Demo

that big of a problem here’s an example of what microphone audio sounds like from the edifier comos C open a style earbuds I’m now going to play really loud background noise to simulate a noisy environment and hear a s the microphones handle it here’s an example of what microphone audio sounds like from the edifier p c open Solid airbuds using their environmental noise cancellation AI
Low Latency Gaming

algorithm and with the low latency gaming mode on I was easily able to dominate on Call of Duty mobile without any type of audio delay issues and
Smart Wearing Detection

here’s a demo of the smart wearing detection so I’ll just pop this off it’s automatically going to pause soon as I put it back in it’s just going to resume music playback and of course you can enable or disable this feature in the
Touch Controls

edifier connects app the touch controls are impressive on the kosc so it’s the widest touch control area I can tap on the front so here we go it’s going to pause I can even tap on the side there we go and then I can tap on the back of these so like that’s just impressive but here’s a full demo so a double tap will pause music and a double tap will resume music and that’s the default setting now a triple tap will go ahead and forward to the next track or go back to the previous track but if we go into the control setting like I showed earlier you could set triple tap for volume up or down game mode or voice assistant as
Battery Life

well the battery life is rated for up to 7 hours on these and these have 48 Mah hour batteries in each of the earbuds and then you can get up to 28 hours if you use the charging case which has a 500 mah hour battery now I did test these and I kept the volume at around say 50 55% volume I had the base boost equalizer on and I actually got a little over 7 hours which is like one of the first times you know the rated battery life actually match what I got now when these do go down and you need to charge them they do have fast charging so a 15-minute charge is going to give you 3 hours of listening time you can also listen to one airbud at a time if you really want to prolong battery life
Comfort

while the other one stays topped up and in terms of comfort these are actually quite comfortable they’re only around 6 G and you can see they’re just kind of like hanging in down here but I can actually lift it up and you know flick my ear and for the most part it actually stays in place so the memory wire in here that applies kind of like that clamping Force it’s not enough where it’s like you know kind of impinging on anything you can see I can still freely move this around so just kind of the um I would say bulk they have on this you know around this stem area it’s enough where it you know holds everything in place without requiring a lot of clamping pressure so they’ve done a fantastic job with to comfort on these and uh to date these are the most you know comfy uh open air airbuds I’ve used where it actually stays in place so yeah you’re not going to have any problems and I almost forgot but because these sit you know so nice and snug without being uncomfortable the touch control experience is really good you know with some other open a style of airbuds you can touch and it really shifts out of place but like I showed earlier you have a huge touch area you can touch this from basically anywhere even the back if that feels more natural to you and it’s going to work so they’ve done a fantastic job in terms of the fitment
Recommended?

and the controls so what I recommend the edifier comos C open style airbuds and these are a great overall option because they’re very comfortable it’s the most comfortable open air earbuds that I’ve used so far it actually sits nicely in place there’s a ton of features like the multi-point low latency gaming mode where you have that ip56 rating and the battery life on here has been Stellar for me in actual 7h hour battery life great option you know if you’re just looking for something to you know use while you’re exercising listening to podcast but you kind of want to be you know aware and present in the moment so if you’re interested in picking up the edifier kosy open style earbuds I’m going to leave links down below for you to get your very own and they do have a bunch of really nice colors or to learn more and if you found this review helpful please consider liking and subscribing it truly does help me out as a small and growing Channel and I appreciate each and every one of you who watches my videos and don’t forget to check out some of my other tech reviews I review a bunch of other products outside of earbuds so I review headphones mechanical keyboards laptops desktops security cameras I’m sure you’ll find something you like and I really hope to see you in my next video soon
