Price & Value
The Maono Fairy Lite USB Mic retails for around $50 USD or $63 CAD, so it’s a pretty good value when compared to more mainstream options.

Build Quality
I’m extremely impressed by the build quality of the Maono Fairy Lite mic. I noticed the amount of weight it had to it once I took it out of the box. The majority of the mic is an all-metal build, with the adjustment knobs being the only plastic pieces.
The adjustment dials on the right and left sides to tighten the swing angle of the microphone are easy to use. However, be sure not to over-tighten, as it will take some effort to loosen it back.
The back of the mic has a Type C connector to connect to your computer. The back also has a 3.5 mm audio port for audio monitoring. I found that having the audio monitoring levels between 70 to 80 using the dial offered the best results.
In addition to its heft, which makes it difficult for it to fall over or shift. It also has a rubberized grip on the bottom, which makes it anti-slip and works well to prevent shifting when it’s placed on a flat surface.
Using The Mic
Using the microphone is really straightforward. The top adjustment knob adjusts the gain levels, and the bottom adjustment knob is for audio monitoring if headphones are plugged into the back of the unit.
When powered, a faint green LED light is shown on the gain level knob. A single press of the knob mutes the microphone and switches the LED to red to let you know that it is muted. Another press unmutes the mic and switches the LED back to green, simple. There are no other settings to adjust.
Once the mic was plugged into my computer, my computer automatically detected the microphone, and it was ready to go.

Summing Up
This is a good option for podcasts, live streaming, tutorial videos and similar videos. The price makes it a good choice over other mainstream brands, and the audio quality is good enough for most use cases. The excellent build quality of this mic is also appreciated. It definitely won’t be breaking or cracking like some of the plastic mic units. There are no settings for a low pass or high pass filter, so you’ll have to look elsewhere if you need those features.
