Why Did I Get This Chair?
I am currently using my Ergo Chair 2 from Autonomous for my main work from home office upstairs. However, I needed a second chair for my basement office, but I didn’t want to spend as much on the second chair since it isn’t an area where I work all the time.
Another factor I had to keep in mind was ergonomics. I have low back pain that creeps in when I spend too much time sitting in front of a computer, and most gaming chairs prioritize aesthetics over comfort, I find. Lastly, I’ve always wanted a chair with a footrest, and this chair has one, and at a lower price than my Ergo Chair 2. This chair, however, claimed to be an ergonomic gaming chair, so I decided to take a chance. Here’s my experience with it after about a month of use.

Price & Value
The Tylink Ergonomic Gaming chair retails for around $240 USD, but you may find it cheaper with available coupons on Amazon or the official Tylink site.
Assembly Process
Only one Allen tool is required to assemble the chair, and it’s included in the package. All the screws and hardware were present with a few spares just in case. I was happy to see that Tylink included a large colored installation printout for easy viewing.
I was able to set it up by myself without any issue, but it would be quicker with two people, of course. The box is large and a decent weight, so you may need help carrying it to its final destination or simply unpack the contents and transport them from the box. Overall, the setup process is easy to follow with the provided printout.
Chair Design & Appearance
The chair has a really sleek look to it. The red double stitching contrasts nicely against the black and makes the chair look almost like one that’d be found in a sports car. There are also some well defined side bolsters that take on that sports car seat look.
Sitting In The Chair & Moving Around
For context, I am 5’11 and around 170 to 175 lbs. This chair makes an excellent option for those 6 feet fall (183 cm) or shorter, but if you are taller than 6 feet, you may not feel fully supported.
After assembly, sitting down in the chair for the first time felt great because all the bending during setup caused my low back pain to act up. The backrest has a slight curvature due to the placement of the backrest cushion, which nicely contours to my back. The seat cushion is a little on the firmer side due to its high density foam, with slight plushness when pushed down. However, it still feels comfortable and is unlikely to become deformed over time due to its firmer nature.
The supplied lumbar support cushion and neck rest also come in handy when sitting upright for hours on the computer.
The chair effortlessly glides around on hard surfaces with the twin nylon casters. In fact, it may be too liberal in its movements for some, in which case, a chair mat would be beneficial. However, I choose to use it without a chair mat, and it isn’t an issue for me.
Footrest Functionality
One feature that’s missing from my Ergo Chair 2 is a footrest. However, this chair has one, and it’s simple to use. When not in use, the footrest remains tucked away under the chair. When the footrest is needed, it can be extended out by reaching under, grabbing the sides of the footrest, pulling it forward, then flipping the footrest cushion up. When finished, simply reverse the steps. It literally takes 2 to 3 seconds to do!
The footrest comes in handy when reclining the chair back, as you can shift your body up the chair to have less of your legs overhanging when partially or fully reclined. Of course, shorter users will have an even easier time due to less of their legs overhanging off the footrest. Another option is to rest your feet directly on the footrest, with your knees in an upward inverted “V” position, which is great for casual use or watching content but makes it impossible to type.
The footrest is a feature I’ve found myself often using after a long day when I want to get in a bit of gaming or to watch some YouTube videos.
Quick Adjustments & Full 180° Reclining
While this chair doesn’t have as many adjustments as my other chair, it has all the basic adjustments I need, and they are quick to adjust, which leads me to use them more often.
Armrest Adjustment – the armrests can be raised vertically by pushing a button under them and have an adjustable range from 10.6” – 14.6” or 27 cm to 37 cm. The top of the armrest has light padding, with a slight concave in the middle of them for added comfort. While the armrests cannot be adjusted inwards in a parallel motion, they can be swiveled or adjusted inwards or outwards diagonally from the center column area by applying pressure.
Reclining The Backrest – reclining the backrest is quickly done by lifting up the lever located on the right side of the chair and pushing your weight against the backrest.
Seat Extension or Retraction – the seat can be adjusted up or down by pulling up the lever under the chair between 17″ – 21″ or 44 cm – 54 cm.
Seat Angle – the seat’s angle can be adjusted from 0 degrees to approximately 15 degrees by rotating the adjustment knob. Adjustment knob pictured below.
This chair does not have adjustments for the seat cushion’s extension, the headrest height, or lumbar support outside of the supplied lumbar support cushion.
Summing Up
If you’re looking for a chair that can double for both, home office use or gaming, this will deliver. While it is marketing as If you’re looking for a chair that can double for home office use or gaming, this will deliver. While it is advertised as a gaming chair, it is comfortable sitting in for hours without fatigue, which I am mindful of when dealing with low back pain.
An essential factor of any chair is how easy it is to use and make adjustments. If a chair is easy to adjust, you’ll likely use those features more, which I’ve found with this chair. Having a footrest is also a nice bonus for relaxing after a long day and just consuming videos or gaming.
I can easily recommend this chair for anyone who is 6 feet or 183 cm or under. Any taller, and this chair may not conform to your body as well.
