hey it’s Adrian today I’m taking a look at this gaming combo so we have this mouse here and a mechanical keyboard and these are with dust proof red switches now these are from a company called red dragon and I’m not familiar with their products but they did send this out to me for an unbiased review so I’m going to test them out in a couple of games and let you know how I feel so let’s get started

so taking a look at the mouse you know it is a really nice looking Mouse actually and quite lightweight like I said and you can see that you know it’s easy for it to Glide it does have those Teflon feet at the bottom now at the bottom we have a mode switch button we also have the off button on button and then an eco mode button and then we have this area here which you can actually open up and you can store the USB wireless adapter so that’s good to have now on the front of it that’s where we have the type C charging port so you could run this wire to your computer or this is how you would charge it as well so this have a built-in rechargeable battery now on the sides we have you know this grippy area right side left side and it is a really really good Mouse in the hand it feels you know very um very grippy so it doesn’t feel like I’m going to lose control and we also have grips or a texture here on this button here we also have red and left buttons and a far button and we also have the scroll wheel here and if I flip this scroll wheel you can see that there’s no play so it just travels in a dead stops so that’s good to have it you know you’re not going to have to worry about that we have buttons here for DPI and there’s a report grade switch button here which I will use for showing the polling rate so overall a very lightweight Mouse uh pretty nice design and I would say I have about medium sized hands and my fingers aren’t you know really extending much over you know the fire button so I’m really good in hand actually so this mouse is really light in the hand and it comes in at 122 grams the k618 mechanical keyboard

comes with the keyboard of course you have a keycap puller switch puller you have the wireless USB adapter you also have extra switches if needed and then you have a type c charging cable so you could charge your keyboard or use it wired with your computer all right so let’s take a look at the keyboard close up so you can see this is when I just turn it on so you have the red dragon logo at the top there now you have some macro Keys here and then whichever one you press so if you go to M1 then you have five different bindings so you have up to 20 combinations in total now let’s look at the front here so you have these LED indicator lights here and you have this scroll wheel here and this can be used to adjust either the brightness or volume level I’m not sure if you can program it for you know use and any other type of software but by default that’s what it does now the keys let’s look at a side profile here so you can see that’s how much it extends so you know kind of uh kind of low profile can’t really get focused there and then this is the sound foreign of the keyboard you can see that’s the on off button and then we have the type C charging port or to be used wirelessly and at the back you have an area to put in the wireless USB adapter you also have adjustable feet and they’re only adjust in one way and then of course you have these rubber feet at the bottom just to keep everything you know to prevent it from sliding so that works you know decently well the

keyboard can be used in wired mode Bluetooth or 2.4 gigahertz wireless and there’s 104 keys total so it does have a slim housing and the metal frame is made of an aircraft grade aluminum alloy now these come with dust proof red switches but they are removable if you want to use another type of switch so you can get about 30 hours on a full charge and it does have a rechargeable battery which is 1 900 milliamp hours the dimensions are 17.2 inches wide 5.8 inches deep and 0.8 inches high and it comes in at about 721 grams or about 1.6 pounds the keyboard uses four millimeter low profile keycaps and there’s 12 millimeters of switch hike with a 1.2 millimeter activation in wired mode you can expect one millisecond of latency the mouse can be used wired or wirelessly with the 2.4 gigahertz adapter but there is no Bluetooth option DPI goes up to 19 000 DPI and that is adjustable in software as well you have 50 grams of acceleration and a 1 000 Hertz polling rate now the buttons are programmable with software and it’s rated for about 20 million clicks now it does have a 1000 milliamp hour battery which is going to give you up to 45 hours and it’s really going to depend on the lighting effects that you have there’s a paw3370 Pixar sensor and you can expect one millisecond of latency in wired mode

Lighting

all right so I’ve cut the lights a bit and I just want to show the lighting effects now you’re mostly going to be using the function key and you can see this insert key this is how you cycle through the different backlighting modes so I’m just going to cycle through them very quickly [Music] okay and I think we’re back to where we were but let me put it on something a little bit less crazy but actually while we’re here you can see if you use the back arrow here that can slow things down or you can really speed things up you can also set the brightness so you can go a bit lower or a bit higher now if you press function and delete this is where you could cycle through you know some preset colors now if you press function and tab it just puts it to White now to use the scroll wheel for the backlighting so whenever this is off this is for volume control nothing’s happening whenever it is on now you’re going to be controlling the backlight intensity or brightness so that works really easily all right let’s

Software Settings

talk software so I went on the red dragon site and you can see that you can just pick whichever keyboard you have and whichever Mouse and whenever you do that you can download the corresponding software for that now it would have been better if I could just download one software and then you know have both products tied to that one software but for each product you have a separate piece of software if you have to download now you can see that I have both of them up here right now I’m just going to go through some of the settings now another kind of weird thing I know this is the mouse software is really big easy to see and the keyboard one has you know much smaller but let’s just go into this a little bit so you can see the keyboard right now I’ve cut the lights and you can see that I can change um the lighting effect so right now it’s on blossoming I can go ahead and apply that and you can see that it’s made that change right now but let me go back into something let’s go back let’s do this maybe so you can see it’s kind of like a cascading thing and then you can change the speed so that it’s much much faster if you like now if you take off lighting options do that you can see it takes you just to the default configuration on here now when you Mouse over whichever of these buttons has this type of outline that you’re seeing on the screen these can be programmed okay so you can set a key assignment you can set macro or you can set it to have you know some kind of media ability okay but all the keys at the top here those cannot be programmed the scroll wheel can be programmed none of these media Keys here so just whatever you see that’s lit up in one now Additionally you do have different profiles that you could go through so I guess you could set one profile say for like productivity one for you know one specific type of game another one for topic game and of course when you turn on the light option you know then you have a bunch of options that you could play around here so that’s the keyboard let’s take a look at the mouse offer so for the mouse software you can see that we have this main area here I and on this main screen you can cycle through any of these buttons and adjust it so you can see right now number nine if you switch number nine or if you click it which is this bottom button here you can see it Cycles through preset polling rates okay so number eight and uh seven so these buttons are to change DPI and you can see as I do that in the top left corner you can see the DPI settings there okay six is the fire key and you can see it says preset pulling rate but if you didn’t want to use that as a fire key you have all of these other options here where you can set DPI or some kind of multimedia so basically you know pretty simple basic um key configuration exactly what you’d expect of course you can import or export profiles so say you want certain bindings for your mask for one type of game you can do that and then just import whatever you’re gonna be playing that type of game now if we go into advanced you can see these are the different dpis so you know one thousand two thousand four thousand which is what I’m at right now and it’s green now if you take a look at the mouse wheel here you can see that it’s green because I’m currently set to 4 000.

so you can set these um colors to whatever you like and then you know just at a glance once you cycle through you can know okay what DPI setting you’re at you don’t need to go into the software so that can be really handy if you like that now you can also go into respiration and you can see instead of it being steady let me apply that so you can see on the mouse there instead of it being a steady green is just going to breathe in and out now I think I’m just going to leave it on steady and of course you could just set it to off if you kind of just live in one type of DPI range and then you have some other options at the bottom here now you can also set macros if you want and if you go into lighting you can see again you have study respiration or streaming and I believe mine is set to just steady and I have it on the white color and of course you can adjust brightness so you can see I can just apply that that takes it down and obviously I wanted to go like this say pink and I can just increase the brightness just to make that more apparent and you can see that we have this type of pinkish purple type of look and of course you can always just pick a custom color if you like

Gaming

all right so when it came to gaming these perform beautifully so I didn’t have any problems with latency and all my clicks and key presses registered right away and that’s with it being on the 2.4 wireless connection for both The Mouse and the keyboard now I normally have a bit of sweaty palms or you know oily finger tips when I’m using a mouse and keyboard and I did have you know some uh deposits right here but I was able to easily clean it because of this matte finish so I’m really thankful for that but overall I mean in terms of gaming you know I don’t play as much mouse and keyboard but it was easy to pick it back up with this combo and like I said you know key travel was really quick um you know I was able to react really quickly so I think if you get this it’s going to be really easy to adapt and just get on with your gaming when it comes to just general use whenever you’re not going to be gaming this works well of course you know it is a mechanical keyboard so it’s gonna have that great technique experience that you’re used to with most mechanical keyboards and I do like the switches that they chose on here because they’re not too loud so you know this is perfect if you game late night and even if you slam on the keys you can hear it doesn’t get too loud so it’s quite manageable and even if you’re supposed to say use this in an office environment if you wanted to you know it’s not going to bug most people so I think this is a pretty good combo

I’m not sure if they sell these two together specifically but this is what was sent to me and you could just buy you know The Mouse and the keyboard that suits you now I am a fan of this keyboard like not even for gaming just for General use you can see you have your your quick multimedia keys there you have the scroll wheel here for brightness and volume and you know you have a ton of connectivity options so up to five devices right three by Bluetooth wireless and then USB and of course it’s just so easy to go ahead and cycle through colors and you know if you’re not someone who’s a fan of installing software just to get functionality like that you know you can easily just do that like this so all in all great system to use tons of customizability if you’re interested in picking up the red dragon keyboard or mouse or both use my code DCT for an additional 10 off and I’m going to leave some links down in the description below if you have any questions please leave them in the comments down below and I’ll see in the next one soon bye
